Strictly speaking, the Cash Cow is the property of IC's 'Border Worlds Acquisitions' Department, which basically means the Do-Whatever-The-Hell-You-Want-As-Long-As-We-Get-Our-Money Department; I essentially followed the IND's precedent, but the ID has been changed out for something more appropriate.
This is what i'm saying. When you need it, you can get flexibility on ID.
When it's against you, you will kill everything in your way to be "Strictly by the rules"
And that is very fair.

' Wrote:No, bub, you aren't lawful, you're SEMI-lawful. And you're not hostile to most of the Traders I see because they aren't packing an Outcast ID or Tag, mine included. Hauling Cardamine doesn't make you an Outcast. The Hackers haul it, the Junkers haul it, the Zoners even haul it, on occasion. So, we're not Outcast, and Cardamine is pretty damn widespread, literally the whole of Sirius (minus the obvious exceptions such as Corsairs).
Please elaborate on this point, that's a VERY interesting statement! Would you please tell me in great detail exactly what that means? I'd really like to know, in case my interpretation is a bit skewed.
EDIT: Also, everything Dab said, because he's bloody well right.
Cardamine might be Siris wide spread, and different "Tag-s" might haul it, but the fact remains it is produced ONLY AND ONLY on Malta. So it's rather simple (even for you). If it's produced on Malta, Cardamine can belong ONLY to the Outcasts. Who hauls it is of no importance. We'd be out to force the smuggler to drop it, so we can destroy the load, not the SMUGGLER.
I don't have to elaborate on the other point, I'm pretty sure you know what I mean, and most are QUITE aware of it...
@Dab, if you want us to follow our ID that closely, I suggest you boot most of the players from Disco, and fly with NPCs. They do such things perfectly.

This way, all I ever see, is bunch of OCs sitting on their asses in Alpha, hoping they will get attacked there, if they're hopping for a fight at all, while they use non-taged traders to get credits for yet another Dreadnot.
Really? Since when was sitting in their own home systemp considered as people wanting a fight? Is it not common sense that people go OUTSIDE the home system in search of fights? I think you need a head check, your common sense producer seems to be malfunctioning.
Oh, and for the record;

Now, you are not owners of a Military, Police, BHG, Merc, or FL ID. As far as the RULES are concerned, anyone not using one of those 5 types of IDs, is NOT ALLOWED BY RULES to attack traders/smugglers carrying smuggled goods and refusing to drop them. I don't care if there is not another character there to tell you no, the rules pretty much do it for you. I don't think the admins would care either.
hey i take that comment to heart Starbutt, i personally sit in alpha because its our home base. same could be said for you when sitting in 23 waiting for someone to roll in there and attack, and when we don't we have ourselves 9 people rolling into alpha looking for a fight.
now i personally don't care about the raids on alpha from you BSG and CR, the thing that bugs me is it sometimes happens 2 to 3 times a day. once every few days sure. but not daily, not even the corsairs and outcast factions people who have in RP the power to launch attacks daily at each other daily do it...... minus a certain clan. (but even then they only come in mid way through battles to leech on the end of a battle) im sure we ALL know who im speaking of.
the scanning of cargo never bothers me either. i personally don't go near 37/23/44 on my smuggler. neither does any of RoS's smugglers to be honest.
all in all my personal opinion is IMG should be acting in defense and only, i know you say your colonials not IMG but the tag and id say it. all im saying, i personally do think you should try and apply to igiss about getting your own colonial id if you want to play colonials.... fine im down with that. but yeah also as people have said, try not to link it TO much into the BSG series cause it does just look bad.
This thread turned out to be what i asked it not to be:yes:
And yes, it makes much more sense that Freelancer can stop Smugglers, but IMG can't.

if that came off as flaming you im sorry, that was personally just my opinion on the matter and what i think should be done, which i think is what the topic was about.

Well, I suppose, then, that switching out the Cow's ID doesn't count as adhering to the stricter rules of the ID? My cow, by changing out its ID and reworking its Roleplay, is now much more in-Roleplay than you, my friend...
