no i mean what use it is to seal off a system with admins to help for only 12ppl
why cant they just use a private server its not like anyone watches them rp if its restricted

i have no problems just find it odd

Because those 12 people probably requested in advance to be left alone for the time span of the event.
No one needs to watch their RP ,
they can simply enjoy the RP themselves , and therefore request admin protection from interference.
By the way , you don't have to be official to request admin protection on a event , anyone can write an event and ask for protection.

it's because a large majority (including me) is too lazy to write events (or to join em, making it quite demotivating to do the effort) on a regular basis , therefore they are a rare sight.
