Titus, I think that if the Admin agrees, and it is up to them whether these are put in
place or not. That a pinned thread should appear making it easy for everyone to
read, so as there can be no misunderstanding in the future. Then possibly a sliding
scale of punishments could be implemented to deal with offenders, or worse repeat
offenders. This set of rules will apply to any sort of PvP then, not just territorial
disputes, unless agreed by all parties before hand.

Think thats about it.

I'm not sure but I think console gives welcome messages to new people (again not sure but it does happen on other servers), and I thought maybe we could have it say the server's site and to check the rules.

The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. I've never seen a 'welcome whoever' come up on this server before.

Yes there are messages that come up saying something like 'goto discovery forum for full rules' and 'please register on the discovery forums' with the link to get here.

My point was that the whole -=?=- fiasco was mainly caused by the fact that most of them didn't bother reading the rules before going onto the server and causing trouble. Then they started their clan without reading the faction rules either.

I still think we need someway of making sure people read the server rules BEFORE they get to the server and cause trouble.

On the subject of other servers I've seen one that had the message

'please know and understand the rules, ignorance of them is no excuse for breaking them'

This came up regularly as console messages, plus they had a password you could only find by registering on their forum and then CAREFULLY reading the server and forum rules to find the link.

I saw several messages from newbies asking where to find the password, and the forum had pointers to it that you had to be blind to miss.

Lots of rules in this thread... we should be looking to have as few rules as possible. Look how successful World of Warcraft is and look how many server rules it has. (Other than harrassment and anti-social behaviour, it has none as far as I can tell).

Role-played characters:
daedalus - Liberty Navy
bandersnatch - Ruthless criminal possessed by a (huge) alien
Shredder - Small-time Kusari pirate, looking to join the Blood Dragons

"Bounty Hunters. We don't need that scum." - Admiral Piett

Shut up and ignore the commentary?? That's what I do.

First and foremost, You gotta learn self-control. Control WHAT you say and WHAT you respond to. otherwise, you're just fueling the fire and pissing off people a lot more.

Secondly, responding to insults with ego boasting is considered poor nature. It's a HUGE put down for those of us unfortunate enough not to have the kind of "play time" on the server. It takes away the fun from the game. Every battle i've had with you, Dab (Or was involved with you) has you screaming all these comments about how you killed this fighter, that fighter, these two fighters, etc etc before you died once. Know what? Who gives a damn ? I don't. I'm pretty sure NO ONE DOES. But it's goddamn annoying to have to read your comments all the time. Learn when to just plain shut up and FLY.

As far as Kane's rules go.. I think those were already PvP rules (some written some not). I'll get with Igiss about making them Official. Thanks.

So its all my fault? No blame rests on people who make personal insults to others? Maybe that started ruining the battle. When it was me and Vtec vs. Missingno. and Duffman it was fun. Once Jamez and Lance got there all it was was hearing how I "smell" how my "stench is killing them."

So is ego-boasting against the rules now and personal insults in? Maybe you should recheck those then.

One more rule:

No SYSTEM CAMPING

don't flame me for trying to put out some flames here, but

Wolfpack98 Wrote:But it's goddamn annoying to have to read your comments all the time. Learn when to just plain shut up and FLY.

I ignore everyone's comments, I read, it don't concern me, I never seen it. (self-control)

pls, don't take it bad on me

This is true, I was there.

so now, you're both right, all I've seen in system chat was the "smell" and "stench" thing, then Dab started counting the kills

Wolfpack, pls, don't take it bad all is I want to play FL, much less flamming if possible... if he speaks so much that annoys anyone... prove you're better and kill him (I think what I say makes sense, if not, tell me and I for one will leave the server)
