Wait is there another gunboat? I know of two gunboats, one, which is a borderworlds-type gunship-type thing, and a larger CTE-type gunboat-type that Aeternus doleo made himself. Is there another Civilian gunboat?

recently started exploring Omega-41. what did you guys do to the star? that new effect there, that's impressive.

I am glad that the Raven's Talon is getting replaced. I have been ignoring it up to now. It's stupid that Kyle Katarn's ship, a Star Wars ship, is in this game. They are somewhat reminiscent of the Outcast line though. I recommend that the Talon's infocard be rewritten to have some kind of situation where the ship is based on prototype Outcast technology from an early version of their new ships that they are now rolling out. Something from when it was closer to Borderworlds technology. That it is from a ship that was stolen by the IMG (or something they were forced to fight and decided to salvage instead) when on a flight test in Tau space. They don't make them in large numbers because they're expensive to build and design specifications aren't in line with usual IMG escort duties (thereby preserving the lhotse).

I'm neutral as for the Waran being replaced. It's ugly, but it's not necessarily poorly designed, it's just artistically ugly. That's fine because it adds a bit of character. I don't think the model should be dropped in on the old Waran model though, instead I think it should be called Waran 2 or something. Say the IMG were able to address some problems with the Waran, and easily build something similar and as cheap, while not deviating significantly from some of the basics of the Waran's original design specifications, by using technology off the stolen Outcast prototype. That they were able to replace certain bits of older Hessian technology in the Waran with Outcast derived technology, that up to now could not be easily replaced without altering the design significantly and driving up the cost to produce. So the new Waran is a combination, Prototype Outcast and a little of the older Hessian stuff, that's made by the IMG, probably on Freistadt. Now it's easily explained why these ships look a little bit like the new Outcast ships. Or you could just retconn the Hessian Waran lore. I think keeping it is more interesting.

I especially like the VHF.

That Eagle gunboat looks good too. If you put that in you could have two gun boats with the Civilian one and the Kusari Explorer and two gun ships with the new Borderworlds ship and that thing. I'm assuming the Kusari Explorer is a larger gunboat.

The new Raven's Talon reminds me of the Nyx a lot, which makes sense for the IMG-developed ship since they used to share techlines (and still do to an extent).

The new Waran reminds me of the Kaichou, possibly based on that when it was released on the civilian and/or black market.

Modeled and textured maybe, but never submitted. I don't have that model. If I had a proper CTE gunboat design I'd not have needed to use what is basically a reskinned Conference with a few tweaks. And yea, that bomber will replace the Waran (blue bubble no more).
