a lot of people talk about getting windows 8 and immediately uninstalling it saying its horrible. any doing this..... your a moron as you cant judge it from the first 10 minutes of having it as I've had it for about 2 weeks right now and windows 8 defiantly has its ups and downs in my opinion. for a start I like some (but not all) of the start menu stuff for example once you get the hang of customizing your start menu you can really find it quite useful but it still does lack in some places like sometimes it can be a little difficult to find a program if you don't have a desktop shortcut for it.

and quite frankly I really enjoy using touch screens so that also probably adds to my reasons for enjoying windows 8 a bit more and for those of you that don't like touch screens/touchscreen layout windows has a handy little button called desktop which brings you back to almost the spitting image of windows 7 with the exception of a few added GUI stuff.

oh and did I mention that windows 8 has a built in ISO image mounting software?:yahoo:

It is nice, but still a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go to get anywhere near OS X.

EDIT: Or iOS for that matter.

I never said it did or will. Linux is a catalyst for OS X - a lot of the nifty features now common in "modern" OS's surfaced in Linux first and got adopted into mainstream OS's by Apple, so in that respect OS X will always/most of the time be a step behind Linux.

Windows 8 is even worse than Vista, according to Anandtech.
They should've really thought the whole concept over before slapping it on the market.
It looks like a pure phone, only without a touchscreen if you dont have one.

Dunno with you guys, but I'm enjoying 8 more than 7, it is true that 8 still need more improvements, but I found 8 is "lighter" than 7 and I do like it

I have Windows 7 on my netbook its kinda slow as shit but its a netbook so i think Windows 8 is designed for more low performance systems because of how light Windows 8 is compared to Windows 7

so Windows 8 is the smaller version of Windows 7

My opinion still have to try windows 8 my dad has it and likes it but hes has a good running desktop
