Charles Manson stared out of his lifepod window into the vastness of space. For all he knew, he was the sole survivor of the ill-fated Astral Light, a rescue ship that ultimately would need its own rescue. It was all supposed to be routine. The Astral Light had been called out to assist a mining freighter which had suffered a major collision with a dislodged piece of asteroid. Manson had a couple of very good friends aboard that Freighter so he decided to go with the rescue ship to help his mates. Systems were failing and the freighter sent out a general distress beacon.

When the freighter came into sight, Manson could hardly believe anyone was still alive. The ship was a mangled mess, with pieces of the hull splayed out in all directions. Clouds of gas, probably oxygen and fuel, were billowing out of the ship. It would be a miracle if anyone had survived. Still, they had to make sure, so the Astral Light glided up alongside and attempted to hook to the docking port.

''Sometimes bad luck is all a question of timing'', he thought. The first boarding crew had barely crossed the docking arm when a stray asteroid fragment crashed into the beleagured ship. This evidently was the final nail in the coffin. What little air remained in the ship was enough for a massive explosion. Tethered, the Astral Light took heavy damages. The evacuation siren went off and Manson raced to an escape pod. The last thing he remembered after diving into a pod was a violent explosion. He awoke some time later, drifting in space.

The lifepod had preprogrammed behavior depending on the circumstance. If near a planet it would attempt a landing, if in deep space it would power down nonessential systems, minimize life support, and wait for a pickup. The standard lifepod was designed to support life for up to one week. Manson peered at the controls, a small battery of indicator lights and the thruster controls. The pod was in pickup mode. So no one was near. Originally the lifepods contained enough sensors, advanced communications, and propulsion to make them into their own little spacecraft.

However, people had a tendency to panic after a catastrophic event. They tended to make irrational decisions, and would constantly be turning on the sensors to see if anyone was coming, draining power from the life support system. They would broadcast message after message, pleading to be rescued, only to use up their oxygen faster. And sometimes they would point their lifepod in a direction they believed to be home and shoot off to some unknown place, making them very hard to find. Eventually the people in charge of such things decided it was better to give them virtually no options– a couple of maneuvering thrusts to keep them from crashing into something and an indicator if a ship responded to the distress beacon. This dramatically increased recovery rates of lifepods and their passengers, but for some made the experience more stressful.

There were lots of stories floating around about people’s experiences in lifepods. People told them like ghost stories. Being trapped for days in the tight space meant the likelihood of cabin fever or a nervous breakdown was high. To combat this some crewmen would stash a little nap sack in a lifepod, usually the one closest to their station or to their bunk. They’d toss in a few odds and ends, books, tablets, games, whatever they thought would help them get through a bad situation.

Manson had never bothered to do this, but as he looked around the pod he noticed someone else had. He reached down and pulled up an old cloth sack and pulled out the contents. A very old tablet computer, a few protein bars, and a yo-yo. Manson examined the tablet. Not surprisingly the battery was dead, no charge cable, and even if it was there, it wouldn’t be wise to use the lifepod’s power anyways. Next he examined the protein bars, the date on them was several years old. ''I guess this little sack has been here for awhile'', he thought. And finally, the yo-yo. Manson stared at the yo-yo. The lifepod was little more than a reclined chair in a cylinder, there was essentially no open space. He couldn’t even see his feet without a great amount of effort. He wondered at the rational of a crewmate who would place a completely useless toy in a cramped lifepod. ''Stupid yo-yo.''

Frustrated, Manson powered up the thruster. He wouldn’t use too much power, just enough to turn the ship so that he could see the wreckage from the explosion. But no matter how the pod turned, all he saw was empty of space set to a background of stars. ''Strange''. He wouldn’t have expected the lifepod to take him very far, but he saw neither the debris from the ruined ships nor the asteroid belt. ''Where am I?''

There was a raining-like voice coming over the comms,but the Agent kept on going

I launched from LSF outpost ZULU 8 on Planet Manhattan,from there i headed to Bretonia,then to the distant Chester system,there was a cloud of radiation,there were rumors of spritual creatures in that cloud,many pilots who ventured in never returned,so i went in to check,there i went in deeper and deeper,until i found a massive reading on my sensors,I headed towards the signal and there was a ancient structure,as i got close to it i got hostile reading on my radar,there were nomads around it defending the structure,i managed to escape and return unscathed and landed on freeport 4 in Magellan system for repairs,soon i'll be launching and returning to liberty.Currently my black box photo uploading tool isn't working,so it's getting repaired once i am back home.

Today we had a joint operation with the [LN]- forces in the New York system,We had a LSF indent wing pilot named Sierra-17,but only i and the Sierra indent were the active LSF on duty,the [LN]- sides were Admiral Jack Malrone and Pilot Alan Polanski,we engaged the forces on the dark side of Manhattan,and in the beginning we managed to take down a lane hacker gunship namely 'Warhol'.The captain survived and was beamed in my cargo,there were other pirates which were destroyed,in the end a pirate with the callsign 'Falken'.We fought him as far as rochester,until he was destroyed by a stray shot from Alan,we returned to base without any deaths,my ship had minor damages but they are repaired.

(P.S Tell the engineers to replace my old wings with new ones,they are like they are gonna fall any moment!)

As you all know,the myth behind the flox corp is incident is nearing to a end,but i shall give reports of a final investigation:

A citizen with the name of Gungun,callsign Black Bird,an employee for DSE)Told us that S.S.MinnoW that ordered the attack,is actually the owner of memphis silver that got a fleet of transports supplying his base,he didn't liked flox corp for they were more richer and had more ships.

His disliking turned into hate when Flox build a Mining base in humbolt,he deceived the secondary fleet by saying the base had illegal protection from [HF],but we interrogated a imprisoned [HF] pilot and he said that they never did got protection money or protected the base.

S.S MinnoW,after destroying the flox base,build a memphis storage there,a the spot where the base was destroyed.So S.S.MinnoW is guility of treason and corruption.I hope the high command sees this report as soon as possible.

Background

Nomad encounters are becoming more and more frequent within Liberty Core space. The Liberty Security Force must take steps towards correcting this and uncovering the reason for these occurrences.

A possible reason for this is, which is worth investigating:

An Outcast vessel ( A ) was spotted recently which glowed with the same light and color as that of a Nomad vessel. The pilot of said ship showed signs of an infected human however, it was unlike any other on record. Data scans on ship ( A ) are somewhat consistent with that of LNS-Tundra. Where the two differ, is that fact that ship ( A ) showed normal communication methods whereas, Tundra’s communication method is more “Nomadic”.

It is known that the Outcasts see the Nomads as some kind of "Gods" and actively worship them. It is believed that the Outcasts share a unique relationship with the Nomads. We need to discover the exact nature of this relationship.

Ship ( A ) was flying under Outcast 101st colors so the most obvious place to find said ship is to go to Omicron Alpha.

Goals

Method

The LSF will utilize high stealth for this operation. When flying under LSF colors agents are ordered to use stealth and fly within the shadows. Official LSF vessels will not be permitted to fly without the CO present.

Undercover work will also be useful in order to obtain Outcast trust and intel. With that said every agent involved with this operation will not be allowed to participate without a freelancer ID'd vessel that is at least neutral to the Outcasts. These undercover vessels are to be Light fighters only.

Obtaining Outcast trust is essential to the success of this operation, with that in mind agents are cleared to participate in illegal activities. There restrictions to this order however. Agents will not:

• Directly fire on civilian vessels. (Shield damage and light hull damage are acceptable if completely necessary.)
  
• Engage in the consuption of any narcotics
  

Agents are under strict orders NOT TO ENGAGE ANY NOMAD VESSELS UNLESS IN SELF DEFENSE. Hostile actions towards the Nomads will certainly anger the Outcast and make any activity we wish to do, a great deal more difficult.

If compromised, operatives are ordered to return to friendly space immediately.
