I think you just made Hauruck lose any remaining credibility.

If it`s law/RP server where players like to be dirty cops why not make jail where they can put thous players who refuse cooperate with cops.
It`s silly that police have to kill each drugs dealer because he refuse give cocaine to dirty cops.

If the 'drugs dealer' wishes to roleplay their imprisonment, I'm 99.99% sure that the LPI players present would cooperate fully.

It`s not RP if you can`t be what ever you want.
RP does not means that you have to play by other rules.
I can call it rules play not Role-playing game.

Maybe read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Role-playing_game

Maybe Forum moderator can lock this post there is nothing more then attacks each other.

WRONG! Listen mate, you really don't understand RP. RP is where you are acting out a character in-game. You cannot just enter Liberty with an IMG battlecruiser. RP CANNOT just be whatever you want it to be. Otherwise there is nothing to stop you powergaming. Is powergaming valid RP? If I had a navy character who could shoot lasers form his eyes and destroy stations as he was born half alien be valid RP? No it couldn't.

Thats an extreme example but is just to get across the point. Any RP is not valid. By entering Liberty with your IMG battlecruiser, Liberty authorities have a valid RP reason to shoot you down. Just because you made a half-assed attempt to "RP" something doesn't mean it's fine. Please just have a proper think about all this ok.

Back onto the original topic, the police and navy no doubt get flooded with requests to help traders and other stuff constantly, they are players to and want to have fun as well. If they want to sit in NY and RP then go let them. If you have a problem with there not being enough police then go DO something about it and make a police character.

P.S. What did that link prove exactly??? That you can ignore official faction RP (Laws of Sirus etc)? How about you read the last line of Paragraph 1.

"Actions taken within many games succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines."

Oh look a "formal system of rules", for us that's the server rules and our RP Laws.

I think he's trolling. 13 pages of people saying the same valid points over and over again, and the OP going "nope" time and time again.

You know I dont care if he's trolling or not. His points make more sense than most of the people's who contradict him.

Just because someone decided that LPI can give indy navy parking tickets doesnt mean it makes sense.

Just because someone made a law that says any foreign ship with bigger guns has to be shot doesnt mean it makes sense either.

Every navy ship pretends they have orders to do what ever they are doing. But they are really just flying around looking for things to do. Real navy ships dont do that, but the game would be horribl boring if all navy ships were jsut acting according to some protocol and strict orders by the admiralty.

In the same way, people could just pretend that cap ships of faction not hostile to liberty could have permission to be there. It was just decided that they shouldnt, for what ever reason back when it was decided.

Back in the day, people could fly their zoner juggy to Manahttan and show off their bling bling if they wanted. It gave people freedom, it added variety. Then someone decided that there has to be a soirt of rule or law against it.

Truth is, LPI can give indy LN parking tickets because official veterans like to pick on indy navy noobs.

In the same way, official vets get annoyed when noobs show off their brand new super-juggy ships and being all happy about it in the vets' personal super-important turfland.

So one was allowed, the other forbidden. Don't pretend there is any other RP sense behing it. There isnt.

Same goes for LN or LPI super-important official people who refuse to help the lowly little lawful who is getting massacred by a leet pirate who is buddy buddy with the leet LN or LPI. When he complains that the navy or police isnt helping him although they could, they get shot by navy. That's discoGC RP for you.

Yeah, there's a LOT of trolling going on here.

And the issue with his points is simple. There are both server rules (thou shalt not suicide trade, for example) and then there are role-play rules (thou shalt follow the laws of the house thou art in, unless you're specifically playing a criminal). Violation of a role-play rule is not the same as violating a server rule.

BUT - it can be.

Quote:1.1 Discovery Freelancer 24/7 RP (Discovery RP) is a ROLEPLAYING SERVER. Role playing is REQUIRED while playing here.

So - if we have established role-play rules and guidelines for police, bounty hunters, navy, pie-rats, etc. - then violations of those rules and guidelines can be a violation of a server rule. Simple, eh?

And since this was all about ID's originally - what's the purpose behind an ID? It's a summary of your rules and guidelines that if you are playing a character using that ID that you are REQUIRED under server rule 1.1 to follow.

LPI - Liberty Police, Incorporated. A private company. If you want to play as an LPI pilot who is dedicated to hunting down all criminals and protecting all ships, more power to you. YOU can do that. Go for it!

Regarding BHG cap ships - answered it already, but I'll say it again. The admins specifically don't want them there, so the ID was written that way. And this was done in agreement with the official faction, because we don't want them there, either. Bounty Hunters are NOT the Sirius Police.

Patrols on my LPI characters usually consisted of a variety of criminals dying (or me personally getting shot down at some point, I'm not invincible). I'm not sure where people get this idea that the LPI is useless.

I suppose it's just what we get for recently becoming one of the more active law enforcement factions in Liberty. The nonsensical hatred previously spewed almost exclusively at the [LN] is now coming our way.
