Heavy Fighter's Cruise Speed

Some sort of love to HF class would be certainly welcome, right now the only HF that is considered useful is Marauder, and even then, it's quite a rare sight.

I'd welcome such buff.

About bigger thruster speed, well, I think it only would make a difference in chasing scenarios, where enemy is within CD range.

Light Fighters are interceptors, escorts, recon and light assault vessels.

In my opinion they are doing their job right at the momenth, given limited arnament (I would beef it up to 4 class 9), super cruise speed and agility to survive

Very Heavy Fighters are heavy assault, currently also frontline snubs.

Honestly I would like for them to have in addition to current firepower also repurposed sunslayers. Perhaps give them half damage of the Nova and utilize such equipped VHF's as substitutes for bombers while retainining agility.

Heavy Fighters for most cases are mini-VHF's but most are simply redundant.

They are supposed to be middle ground between VHF and LF's, however in most cases you get a bit more agile VHF which is way more fragile and posess bit lesser firepower.

In my opinion, their firepower is in due order and stat-wise should get hull/agility buff. In addition increased thruster speed which could be reasoned with a fact that VHF gaining weight and sacrificing agility for maximum firepower fighter can wield looses some of thrust power. LF could be too small for such efficient afterburners, leaving space only for better cruise engines.

Let's asume thruster speed of heavy fighter would equal 230

You get mini-VHF's with still existing obvious flaws given role of brawlers. Such brawler could get into battle much faster, use its additional speed for combat maneuvering and if things turn ugly - attempt to break off (and be countered by interceptors cruise later)

Lawl. Such a large difference in thruster speeds would just make HF's invulnerable to VHF's - just like how fighters in general just scoff at caps and thrust then cruise off - not to mention the screwing of the already snub favored balance in cap vs snub

The weapons that HFs use would need to be rebalanced in terms of speed and damage to account for the extra added bit of unnecessary lol-dodge-everything factor.

If the Liberator is a "small LF", then I do not favor this idea.

HFs do need some sort of balance though, and I think that increasing cruise speed is a step in the right direction to start motivating people to use these ships instead of spamming eagle/sabres in fights.

Having that thruster speed would indeed make HFs interesting. Like, a lot. A mass review to make them lighter (slightly heavier than vanilla's sabre) might aswell do the trick, along adding 2 class 10 guns on the class 9 slots.

Make them all like the Gladiator and Junker Bull Dog. 2 torp slots, same size as VHF, only 4 guns, and lighter armor. Would be interesting to see all factions get a dual torp slot HF.

I think that'd make them a very marketable alternative to the VHF.

I say reduce agility on VHF and buff their offense/hull to balance, keep HF as intermediate between VHF and LF. Most VHFs atm feel light and responsive.

Yber, go into conn and log a snub that doesn't have thrusters. Try to fight a snub that does have thrusters. You'll see why having any large difference in combat speed can be silly within similar classes.

Also, snubs are hard enough to hit already without giving them a bonus to survivability.
