So I'm at someone else's house using my laptop for a little bit. Going home, so I turn off my laptop (running on my stupid Windows partition Angry). My computer then decides that right then is the best time to install 116 updates. By the time I got home it's up to update 50 and it's still running now.

If it still works when it's done consider yourself lucky.

Failure configuring Windows updates. Reverting changes. Do not turn off your computer.

one time i tried Faronics DeepFreeze... worked AWESOME until windoze decided to install updates without asking.
Constant reboot applying updates, it felt like i stuck in Groundhog Day.

I've never had any issues with windows and updates without asking just means you didn't go configure how the updates work. I did my first bunch of updates in 5 minutes do you have dial up still? Tongue

I stopped bothering with Windows Update after a while and turned automatic off. They have basically no impact as long as your firewall, Anti-Virus etc aren't garbage and you're not running Vista.

Meh, I've seen it having to do 526 updates before.
I had a lot of free time during that ICT lesson on that day.
