One form of gameplay I love about this mod, is still the sense of exploring, "what's in that asteroid field?" "Does that dark matter cloud hold any mysteries beyond death?" "What's through this jumphole?" "Why am I on fire OMG ITS NOMADZ".

Yeah, exploration is still a fun thing for me since there are times I just want to kick back, relax and just gaze at the beauty.

Therefore, why not introduce random wrecks that spawn in certain areas randomly, alongside already established wrecks?

Maybe we could assign some fields with a number, and some random wrecks with a number, and spin the numbers and put wrecks in there with some goodies. I'm not entirely sure on the implementation at this time.

Some goodies really shouldn't be CODENAME weapons, we need something, more, well more. We can get weapons from anywhere and if we flood the market with even more CODE's their costs would drop and the arms market would cry foul. Not here to do that.

What would the loot be? Artefacts? A new type of cargo? Story cards? Hmm, actually, why don't we pick some stories characters that the community has created, that has died or vanished in their RP, and they can randomly turn up? That could be interesting too.

Anyhow, thoughts on this type of thing?

I like the idea very much, i am personally missing the discovery part of discovery..

Plz bear with me a sec Fletch...just thinkin' out loud, but you got me mulling that some sort of server wide, multi team scavenger hunt event would be really cool.

Scavenger objects could be anything. A unit of synth pot, counterfeit software, whatever...anyway, wherever the objects are placed, an accompanying infocard would give clues to what & where the next object might be.

Ships: Team 1 can all fly the same ship, team 2 can all fly a different ship & so on...

I reckon the team ships would have to be specifically purchased just for the event & maybe even sport a scavenger hunt ID for the day...I'm imagining pan house travel would be a given.

I say just have normal wrecks change location randomly.

I think I brought this up a long time ago, to a very negative reaction from the arms dealers and combat based players, since the prices would shoot up, supply would wane since people would HAVE to hunt for them. While improving roleplay and giving bounty hunters a potentially new avenue for revenue, was deemed far too much effort.

Its not so hard to create plugin where zone (nebula, asteroid etc) have a chance to drop a wreck in 10-15km radius around you while flying through. Limit this to X times per server restart, add delicious cargo (that should be destroyed when ship dies) and we can achieve a real gameplay feature here. It's only about devs to officially accept such idea into the mod.

Agree, agree, Yes.

My opinion is that so called code sellers kills RP at server. Thats why i never bought codes.

Example: you would find coded weapon u can talk a fancy story how , when and where you did found it and proud to tell it.

How it is now: oh i just bought it from that guy , oh the same guy everyone buying from Sad

code sellers = no rp

I see no problem in the prices shooting up, we are allways talking about the need for a money sink. Also i agree about code hunting not beeing RP. Wreck hunters should indeed be hunting the wrecks, not be the ones who can wake up the earliest.

But forgive me, i went offtopic, you want other items treasures instead of codenames. I say it should be a ship, an explorer ship that spawns in different places and sells expensive cargo very cheaply.
