Well, it has 3rd person mode already, it was shown several times before, but it's HUD-less. Each ship has own HUD integrated into cockpit model I think. Pretty cool for immersion reasons. But even if the game will not have 3rd person view for small ships there'll be mods.

There's going to be a "helmet" based hud for some simple systems, mostly target tracking. Chris R seems to have a burning need to reduce menus and clutter. The helmet hud will work really well with people who use TrackIRs or an Occulus Rift.
But yes, there will be third person. But it will not be an ideal environment for a shootout. Which I think is dandy.

Not to be rude but Ive seen that like ten times. I would love to see some more specs, like on the level of the Aurora Brochure. I love my stats.
Also, one of the really cool things that they released where the P52 Merlin statistics. From what I can gather the P52 has the same armament capabilities as the Aurora, just with a different engine system and such. I hope that a competant P52 pilot can hold its own against something bigger (say a 300i, or in a rare instance a hornet). By hold its own I mean not get insta-gibbed.
A detail I noticed, the 300i has a wheeled undercarriage, not unlike modern fighter jets. Ships like the Aurora have skids. I don't understand why a Aurora has a Vtol system and the 300i has a STOL? landing configuration. I may just be reading into it to much, but perhaps the different companies use slightly different landing systems, Origin using runways whereas RSI uses VTOL systems.
On the issue of TrackIR, I hope Chris Roberts will not use the vanilla SDK that TrackIR Distributes, because the SDK blocks out freetrack, so enterprising individuals that don't want to pay upwards of a hundred bucks can build their own substitutes and use freeware software.

They'll be releasing a new video for each trim level over the course of the next week. I imagine the exploration level trim will play host to emphasizing the comforts of the ride This one did have a shot or two of the living area, but I agree that they weren't optimal angles at all.
The wheels, like the yoke, were stylistic choices. Not everything that flies needs to be a skidkid.
Im not saying there is anything wrong with wheels, it fits the ship. (fighter jet like)
The price for the 350r is way to much. I think I would rather own a freelancer than a limited edition 300i.
But I wouldn't want to own a freelancer when I have myself a lovely constellation. It looks amazing in Jump Point 6.
I hope that I can be all goodie two shoes then just switch to the baddie side when I get bored being a nice guy.

I did hear it from a guy who always tests games. It would be released then or might be he told me. But not with some huge content. it would be added afterwards.
