Question about PvP between Mercenary and the Bounty

I have 2 questions to ask.
The rules say RP and engagement notice is needed before shooting.
So let's say the bounty ship came in front of us and we came in front of him suddenly.
Now the Mercenary quickly said :
"Bounty ship, there's a bounty on your head and I am here to claim it"
Then he suddenly starts shooting and kills the bounty ship before he said any thing.

Q.1 : Is this allowed ?

Now let's say there are two mercenaries 1 and 2 and there's an bounty "B".
Now Mercenary 1 got to the bounty "B".....

1 : B theres an.......
1 RPs with B and is going to start the battle but suddenly 2 comes.
2: Well well well.....What do we have here ?
1: 2, leave this bounty to me, i wonna claim it !
2: What ? I say you must be joking.This bounty is mine.
Now Q.Q starts between them and they start shooting and fighting each other.
After some time,
"1 is killed by 2"
2: Hah ! Now the B is mine !
btw wheres B ? B ran away !

The fight which took between 1 and 2 doesn't seems to be matching server rules.

Q.2 : Is this also allowed ?

I think it's allowed, maybe.
Based on the ID, I guess another merc could count as a target in pursuit of a bounty if he gets in the way.
But considering you work on the same page.... idk.

Don't fret. Happened to me, it ain't a biggy, although a dick move to you and the target since you were roleplaying or even talking ooRPly about said bounties. Move along, shrug and think on those days where that kind of people can't really log.

Id say they're both allowed. Scenario 2 isnt specifically mentioned in the rules, but its not specifically denied either, and therefore, as its definitely INRP I say go for it.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking about but I'll take a guess that you are asking about the "suddenly" part? Technically that is only a rule requirement when shooting at trade vessels (6.6) and is not required by any other rule. However the admins tend to get grumpy about it and sometimes they go all arbitrary to remind you people who holds the power. Its not a rule but its bad manners and that might get you in trouble.

Also, the rules do NOT say "engagement notice is needed before shooting" only that RP is needed. Its good form to provide roleplay that explains why you are engaging somebody but its definitely not required and I have never even seen an admin get grumpy over it. Hell I have even been killed by a mercenary who lied that he wasnt registered to claim a bounty that he then killed me over as soon as I turned away. So, no engagement notice is needed, only RP, and the RP part can be "hows the weather BAM BAM BAM"

Its not against the rules to get into a random fight with somebody. Its against the rules to kill players with your own ID (except for Freelancers), but if was one-time thing that came about from actual role-playing then the admins wont enforce it.

I'd say it should be. If only because it's a tool that can be used to avoid ganks. Freelancers A and B are attacking bountied targets C and D. Freelancer E tries to join in, but A and B state they want the bounty and will engage E if they try to "steal" it. Voila. A fairer fight for everyone.

Plus, a little bit of competition hasn't ever hurt anyone, has it?

Hmmm - I thought I'd posted a response here already, guess not.

Regarding Q1 - well, if there is a legitimate bounty, that's pretty much all the RP that needs to happen. No one has to actually say, I'm going to open fire now and start shooting at you - they just simply have to RP before combat begins.

And really, if you're a mercenary or a bounty hunter and a target shows up right in front of you, is there much else you really DO need to say?

Regarding Q2 - that is a PERFECT example of an allowed combat after RP - presuming that the two people were of different ID's.

In other words, a merc and a bounty hunter, or two different ID's that can collect bounties.
Otherwise, if it were two bounty hunters, the RP should go something like, "Ah, there's my bounty!"
"No, I'm claiming it."
"Okay, rather than involve the guild, we split the profit from it, right?"
"Yep"
GANK TIME - and they both work together to kill the bounty.

What if there are two Freelaner IDed players and Q.Q that they want to claim the whole bounty ?
