No one has ever mentioned anything other than the deepest loathing for p2p, with full mod and private server support being a part of the packaged deal.

For goodness sake.

This phase of the pledge drive ends on the 7th of July.

Star Citizen has alot to offer to us Space Sim fans. And the fact that the game is being made by the creator of Freelancer is one more reason to check it out. If Star Citizen proofs to be as good as we all hope it will be, then it will be similar to Freelancer just better in every aspect. And having a Disco community there would be a good idea.

I think it will flop, why? Because it will have FPS shooting, and no game that has ever tried to combined two or more different genres was particularly good. It's like a crossover SUV sort of fun but it's not a proper SUV like the Range Rover and it's not a proper car.

The "FPS shootin" (funny thing: first person shooter shooting, nvm) isn't planned to be a major part of the game but only as a small option at the moment. Although I would appreciate capturing bases or planetary fighting, this has potential!

Also SUV driving is pretty damn funny. SUVs are cool. And only because it isn't a normal car or an ATV makes it bad? No, it's the excapt opposite. The mixture makes it fun to drive. If I had the cash I would immediatly get me one.

Just have to wait and see what the game is like for playing? Pretty graphics and more in-depth game-play doesn't mean much if the game is bad for playing. Egosoft space games proved that, never got seen as a FreeLancer replacement.

If the question is meant to mean - what will happen to FreeLancer if Star Citizen does turn out to be a good replacement for it. Hmm.. think FreeLancer would struggle really to continue on, there's only really the official DISCO server getting the numbers on-line nowadays. Plus, if Star Citizen can be hosted by servers (which I believe that option will be there) to do, your going to get new servers popping up running it, so tend to think DISCO may have to follow suit, depends how many player numbers they lose because of people switching games - if SC ends up being hosted on servers like DISCO?

If the game turns out to be rp-y, too .....tough times disco Aww

I was just on the Star Citizen website reading a post by Chris Roberts. To me it sounds like he is pro role-play!
