Anyone play this?
It's a mod that's included with Civlization IV: Beyond the Sword, while the plus version is a modmod that greatly improves and expands it.

I couldn't believe it when I first came across it, as it is literally Freelancer as a turn-based strategy game.
Trade lanes, asteroid fields, space pirates, fighters, bombers, destroyers, cruisers, battleships, carriers, it is so much like Freelancer it's scary. Also extremely addictive.

If you have BtS and haven't played this, do it.

Try playing this. It's like Civilizations but in the space age. No trade lanes or Freelancer references though, but it has an AI that puts the AI of Civ5 to shame.

That actually looks really cool, but I'm not sure I can invest time and energy into a new game right now.

Well.....one round takes an entire month in FF. So even in the lowest-radiated fields in disco, you'd be worse off.
