No matter how much the pirate demands. No matter how much the pirate roleplays. No matter to what group he belongs or who he is. One will always whine and complain about piracy encounters. It's a trend.

And no matter how much you roleplay with a trader, he'll always try to sleek away while you're incautiously typing. Why? Because 90% of the traders trade for the profit. That's the point of a trader anyways in the first place. On the other hand, a pirate earns at most 5% of what a trader earns. Even with 20-million-demands.

If I'd have to calculate the credits I earned per trader I met on my rogues the last two years. It'd be far below 100.000 credits. Why? Because some traders do even prefer to die, over paying 100.000 credits to a pirate. No matter if paying would have been cheaper. Logical. No. Is there a point in speaking about inlogical topics? No.

Well I recently rambled on quite a bit about piracy to another new player. Tom, you've got a good attitude that I hope you can maintain (also go for OS&C|, do it!) Keep enjoying the game.

Ok, cleaning out the off-topic. Ramble on Skype.

You forgot the off-topic post I replied to. ~revolutionhungry Narc

Knee jerk reaction? That's ok. Happens to the best of us.

Well, I just paid off my loan today. Now all I need to do is get the cap armor I want, and a battleship scanner, and ill be ready to implement this plan.

Why waste money on a BS scanner? Players appear at the same range with every scanner, and the enhanced cargo scanner has the maximum scan range.

True...I mean think about it, if there were no pirates, traders (Who trade to play-not trade for eat) will just get bored and eventually stop it, turn to mining and NPC missions. Also, law enforcers factions will be...useless (Just to put it right).
Just look at the houses with low piracy levels (Rheinland, Kusari, Gallia which I hope will get more attention after Rishiri---->Loraine connection) Boring!

Another point made right by Narcotic. I used to be a Rogue indie recently, pirating most of the time, avoiding the navies. I got really pissed of when maybe less that 10% of the traders whom I met accepted to pay, the rest preferred to die than paying a single penny, that's why I tuned to Bounty Boards!

I really enjoy trading, especially in convoys...Best part is getting busted by pirates, then making that funny RP, maybe then killing them or getting killed, or just paying!

I'd just like to point out that I, and no doubt many other traders, trade to gain the cash for my other characters. Trading is a necessary evil to be able to afford all those torpedoes, cruisers and such. Trading is boring, monotonous and, frankly, unpleasant. I spent countless hours of my life going from here to there, there to here, here to there, and so on, and so when I get pirated I do get pissed, because every credit I loose to pirates is another hour of my life wasted.

And refusing to pay means you lose even more credits because your hull busts open.

Don't get pissed. Just pay the man.

Retired, permanently.

Unless they're pirating in a GB or Cruiser or something and make stupidly high demands because they know they can tear you apart if you say no.

On the contrary, I had 2 people try to pirate me today, neither had the right CD to stop my transport. Was quite comical.
