Better! i've seen a lot of models of various ships here on forum quite rich dinamic, awesome and flyerish(not imports).... but for some reason people here choose to stay with BROWN fish-bretonian design, houses in space though is never raining-kusari design, Crates...warehouse, shop..thing(*vanilla*extreme lack of imagination in 2013) rheinland design, outcasts dont have a LINE,a vertebral ideea in ship design to follow yet and Corsairs....come oooon fellows this is not warcraft, you know orcs dont fly!!! and when someone looks at jinx models wich are dozens and more it remains astounded !!! ok? pls PICTURE that difference and impression of someone having in front both 2000 vanilla and 2013!!! even in lore has passed hundreds of years...come on technology has definetly advanced since then like A LOT dont you think fellows?
As for new firefly i think is a thousand way better then the brown goose one and even if it is a bit Modest in space wicked advanced stuff form thing... i guess is ok for a Transport(is not military after all); ok just dont loose the stats agility..(no stucking in the lanes please).
looks good and FLish - it does not look elegant but rough - resembles the hegemon in a compact form.
in terms of replacement - it does look like it is fairly larger due to the firefly making use of a canopy like a fighter - and this ship having an opaque bridge. - so the feeling is that thig ship / model would probably be maybe 10-15% larger and more massive.
it does not look much like a fast blockade runner or smuggler, but it does look like it can take some punishement - so imo - much like a high security medium transport,w hich is quite a good thing. - if you manage to skin it like the hegemon / utilitarian ships - it should fit in perfectly with the rest of the freelancer vanilla utility ships.
Well, pilot-to-window comparsion defines the size, afterall. But I'll keep it in an appropriate size, don't worry.
As for agility, well, FF isn't agile as it is now, but if model says so - additional HP could be added.
The only two places I can see lacking a bit of detail is that large square towards the back and that flat section where the rear engines meet.
The square I imagine will look much better with a texture but that flat section could use some small raised strips like the ones you've used elsewhere just to give it some definition.
