Thanks. I found the story of 4.86 you mentioned, that's why I was confused why I can't find it for 4.87; that must be a post-release document.

I think those were put out before 4.86, or at least some version of it so people know what is happening. I'm sure you've noticed that we aren't in 4.87 yet so there is time for a pre-release announcement. With jammi being the main Story dev and subsequently taking time off (indefinitely it might seem...) I don't know the progress on that though.

Govedo13 makes many good points.

As for me, I think the JGs to Gallia (and general Gallia improvements) sound good, the locations of the systems are more sensible (as in, what nebulae they're in, how they are related to nearby systems, etc.) and I look forward to the incorporation of Oita and Poole.

Sigma-13 was the historical battleground of Kusari and Rheinland (thus all the wreckage), and Sigmas 17 and 19 were where the Outcast and Corsair ZOIs butted together. I guess moving their conflict into S-13 could be a logical progression (if they found the area profitable). I suppose that's why the JHs have been removed to give Outcasts and Corsairs a better pirating corridor.

I hope Drake is more useful than 117.

With a lot of the convenient JH routes removed from the Edge Worlds the Zoners should dominate all trade out there-- hopefully the routes are good for them in the update.

Nagano should play a very different role, being where it is now. Will Samura platinum be going through the Taus to Gallia? the route to NB will be longer in the update.

Provence is a little more cut off (no Dauphine JH), but I guess it was underused anyway (NOX).

Newcastle seems to grow in importance, as Leeds is lost-- remains to be seen if activity will increase. Maybe if it weren't so huge?

In the end, all that matters is if the changes lead to interaction/RP, so I'll believe it when I see it. I think the devs have some good guiding principles and the changes should mostly help.

EDIT: I hope they turn down the music in Burgundy, or get rid of it. That's one reason I try to avoid that system.

Another thing to note is, that it's still very big. Whether that is positive or negative is still to decide for me.

But so far, interesting changes. I look forward to the changes between trade routes and general access to systems. As far as I can see, this slows flight down, right?

Will the system size be reduced a little, as flying somewhere might quickly become boring if you have to fly 30+ minutes to get to someone you want to rp with.

i believe that O-Rho is the new BHG Core gaurd system .. or O-9

Why did you guys remove omega-15, and if so are you going to move those two pobs that are out there?

Omega-15 was converted into Omega-9 because it was a somewhat boring and inaccessible system, so we decided to do something new with it. Given that the BHG Guard system was getting moved, the system had little purpose for existing.

It is left to the beneficence of the Admins to move the POBs.

There was a sig here, once.

Well ~ will it contain diamond fields there as they are now in 15? And that's a little rude with all due respect, if you lads are changing systems you can atleast move the pobs :\ Anyway thanks.

Hmmm....just a thought.

I understand that the actual amount of systems can't be reduced ingame, and I'm also aware that 4.87 is done so no changes will happen now.

But, isn't it possible to cut off barely used systems from the entirety of sirius by giving them no jump hole access?

I would think that would be a reasonable way to remove systems without corrupting anything.

We still have too many.

If freelancer could support servers of a thousand players, or even 500, it wouldn't be so lonely.

We have more systems than players ingame most of the time, at this point.
