An idea poped up in my haed after hours of flying on my Revolution bomber. Im pretty much fan of symmetry, so using weapons on my ships in pairs, so not to kill aestetic view of my ships. But two Hellfire rockets running out of ammo pretty fast, and I usually dont use EMP guns to not loose ability to damage hull of NPCs or players when needed. So taking our shields becomes abit harder.

But now I might have solution to that - EMP Hellfires. Player can mount two types of Hellfires on his bomber, which gives him more opportunity and battle effectiveness versus capitalships. And ammo will not drain as fast as with dual Hellfires.

As a little bonus discussion - make cheaper or free ammo for missiles, CDs, torpedos, mines, CM. So we not waste 2 mils each time our bomber get wasted.

Thoughts?

Yupp, every snub weapon could/should have pulse version. Even Hellfires and even SNAC. And MR, too. But damage balance glitches could make some of them OP, so we must be careful what we wish.

I'd like bombers to exclusively use bombs too. Like dumb devastating mines that can't hit nothing but caps (if plotted with skill and from really dangerously close). SHFs should be only ships that could carry both anti-fighter and anti-caps mines at the same time. That way we would fly more SHFs, which are fun to fly.


I'm against free ammo. I'd like to see more people in convoys or doing hard missions TOGETHER. I'd like to have free ammo in Conn (but not to take it out of Conn) and no regens there. I'd like death messages stay in Conn as well.

I think this is a good idea, but it might be a bit late for adding into 4.87

Here are the Hellfire stats

Hellfire Stats Wrote:Hull Damage: 5,065 /round (30,390 /sec)
5065:1 efficency
Energy Damage: 2,532 /round (15,192 /sec)
2532:1 efficency
Refire Rate: 6.00 /sec
Power Usage: 1 u/round (6 u/sec)
Damage Type: Direct

For the new weapon, we could (So its not over powered) get rid of all hull damage and increase the Energy damage by a little, for example:

EMP Hellfire Stats Wrote:Hull Damage: 1 /round
1:1 efficency
Energy Damage: 3,532 /round
3532:1 efficency
Refire Rate: 6.00 /sec
Power Usage: 1 u/round (6 u/sec)
Damage Type: Direct

Dunno, just an idea

My thoughts too. We need more EMP things around. But following same logic - we need more shields. Right now, Cruiser and larger really lack of shield defence.

Free conn ammo may work too. I dont like wasting millions just for purpose of training.

Adding something new is not reballancing something old. If someone will not want to have EMP Hellfires, here is rule for that:
you dont like it - you dont use it.

That sounds pretty nice. Maybe buff Shield damage to 4.2k however.

Also, EMP hellfires are quite useless because you take shield much faster than hull.
