Two Supernova's is fine for the Barghest. That means it will actually be used, like the werewolf should be, instead of the Falcata.

Besides, have you seen the size of that thing? I hit QV's Barghest using only 5 nova torpedo's, which I had just bought for my BHG bomber. Now, I know QV isn't a shining example of a pilot, exactly, but that doesn't happen. Especially, when my shield only dropped after the nova exploded. The Barghest is a big target saying *BRING A CAP AND RAPE ME* on the side of it. In fact, its the only bomber that is seriously vulnerable to capital ships of all kinds.

Only, and I mean ONLY firepower can save the Barghest from gathering dust at its selling location. Insta-kill gunboats isn't much of a problem. For one, it will stop all those Corsair Lunchboxes from flying, if used in groups.

However, with that size, it will be (as it already is, in fact) very very vulnerable to fighters and smaller bombers.

It should be the best at its intended job, and the worst at adapting to hoards of fighters coming in to assist the opposing team...

rubbish, sorry - but 2 supernovas on any ship that can be fired at the same time are just way out of balance, no matter how bad the ship currently is. increase its armor, increase its shields - whatever. but adding another 130.000 damage is rediculous - but pointless to discuss, i am sure it would never be even considered.

besides, two SN mean 2 hits in one pass ... first takes out ANY shield, the second one that comes right after the first takes out ANY hull of anything smaller than a gunboat. instakill much?

Well I think 2 SN is too much also... the Heavy lifter powerplant and LVL 6 Freighter shield would do just fine...

--------
but Jinx... maybe buy one Barghest and try to fight a Liberty GB with it... that's as close to impossible as it's possible to be. If he uses engine-kill you turn around just about at the same time as he does... so CDing is not and option..

Then you have two ships of virtually the same size... one has 130k shield and GB turrets.. the other one a 10k shield and a Supernova... which one do you think will win?

i was fighting a barghest as Clover in her griffin - and i felt some sort of pity for that poor bomber.... even with engine kill - he wasn t really able to do much. so - yes, the barghest is a poor ship.

mind you, the rogues are not known for be brilliant ship builders - i don t have a problem with a poor ship in a roleplaysense. when it comes to pure balance and fairness of factions, it becomes a problem though.

i only know how it feels fighting the barghest in a fighter though - i do not know how it feels like defending a capital ship from being attacked by barghests... in the end.... thats what the bomber is for. and there, i don t know how it flys... when its MUCH easier to take it down from the perspective of a warship - it might need a little boast ( compared to other bombers ) - but maybe... the other bombers are just a tad to good and the barghest is perfectly the way it should be. ( aren t gunboats meant to be extra strong vs. fighters and bombers? )

I see what you are saying Jinx, but the fact remains.... Barghasts are not the best of ships in the Universe.

Even with 2 Super Novas. barghasts hardly ever win fights.

If we are calling for power, bigger ships than a GB have mortars on them.
Barghast is also killable by caps using just guns as it is a slow ship.

I have flown barghast and I have flown against it. I consider myself an OK bomber Pilot, and I say it is not over powering at all.
All I can say is let that ship have 2 supernova firing capability. and a lvl 6 transport shield.
May be change the cargo carrying capacity to 300~350.
Give the big boys an incentive to down grade to smaller quicker ships to stop a barghast.

It fills a niche of a super bomber. Let it be.

That would make the ship a bit uber in my opinion.

Fly it then say it...

Even 2 super novas will need a recharge to almost full to reshoot. Meaning the ship is dead in the water for that time (felt more than 6 seconds). Any other bomber pwns it right now....if it survives the first pass. It will be uber strong against caps but thats it. Any other fighter can get behind it and finish the fight on its own time. Any selfrespecting GB will kill it before the first full recharge.
BS ? and Cruisers well they can take multiple nova hits, trust me I know......
Other bombers are already resolving that issue by using Razor + super nova.
or inferno + supernova. You can fire multiple infernos and Razors during the recharge time of a Super nova (aka once every 6 seconds)
I think its 0.50 and 0.33 respectively, so 3 infernos (50k + shield damage) or 2 razors (40k hull + 20k shield)
sorry doing it from memory. It it really that far off ?
The only advantage it has that it can potentially wreck the shield with first shot and eat into hull with the other. Thats it. If you think that is too much, try flying it and see.
PEACE.

There should be another way to balance that ship, your argument didn't convince me actually, sorry.

agreed. the barghest does not require that much power that it can fire 2 supernova shots.

Well what about my suggestions....

LVL 6 Freighter shield (24k)

Heavy lifter powerplant - 60k capacity, 6k recharge, now it has 58k capacity, 2.4k recharge.
