*A suspiciously well-dressed Gaul walks up to the camera and appears lounging in front of it. From the way he self-consciously adjusts every item of his clothing every other instant and the angle of the surrounding screens, it would be safe to assume that the man is actually preening himself. After several lengthy moments he slides a bowl of generic fruit into full-view of the lens, and proceeds to dine from its contents. *

“…Ah, well met my irreverently discordant Baffinites,” *chews* “ …It’s a pleasure to be acquainted once again with your admirable kind. So do inform an ignorant Gallic, how fairs the alignment of Hodge? Or Podge? Or that remarkably Grecian Eris woman, sweet Discordia, great picker of the Apple of Contention; who somehow mysteriously manifests herself as an abnormally massive gas giant, apparently. Indeed, your venerable Goddess (for indeed, she is rather old by now), has a certain… history for being tacked on to varying stellar bodies; one of ancient Sol’s dwarf planets, for instance. Quite an ascension, that; from an Olympian figment to a world of snow, then to greater heights as a Sirian, I mean…” *chomp* “…Brava. She’s certainly worthy of the accolade you dispense upon her.”

*Chomps, then picks up a large, green terrestrial windfall fruit of common identification, examining it with a lengthy stare.*

“…One of the many aspects I admire about your myt… deity, is that she’s ethically contentious. She won’t be trod upon, oh no. I’m sure you’re all familiar with the events which led to the judgement of Paris, oui, In sweet Earth’s mythos? Intriguingly the marriage the Olympians were celebrating in that instance was the marriage of Whoever and Don’t Care, parents of the greatest warrior in the Illiad; (and my personal favourite none-existential figure), a certain Achillies, but that’s not really relevant to anything now, is it? When Discordia was barred from attending the festivities by her extended family (on the grounds she would have made the show considerably more amusing, no doubt, but the archaics were such spoil-spartans), she… to use a Libertonian phrase that appears to have survived centuries… kicked arse. And that, my dear pineal adorning compadres, is what I admire about your kind… You (if infrequently), kick arse, and with a sufficient delta-V in your step to really set off the fireworks…”

*Crunches into the apple*

“…Anyway, since the majority of the Zoner community’s time appears to be *sighs* permanently policing the Edge Worlds like some form of universal, all-seeing, all-dancing United Nations parody, just very occasionally a small degree of… *sighs louder* “Aid work” runs across my desk from time to time, as though I bear some form of passing similarity to Mother frea<expletive>kin’ Theresa. To be honest, I don’t care if there are starving Corsair families who are eating their own offspring to survive. Life is tough, deal with it or talk to Mr Darwin. The strong (read rich), survive, the poor don’t. Such an eventuality is unfortunate of course, but hell, you can’t have winners without the odd socio-economical dropout…”

*Consumes a grape*.

“Anyway, I’m rabbiting. Shall we cut to the actual point in this transmission, oui? I do so… want to. So, my dear disordered compatriots, I’ve heard you happen to have a minor issue with this…”

*Switches on viewscreen*

“Nukes man! Veritable megatons of them in fact; pooring down on that dear, darling local of a holiday resort that we all know and moniker as Gran Canaria. Is the bombardment still going? Hell, I have no idea. News is slow to filter all the way up in ’37, especially when it doesn’t have any relevant effect on any of the people you know, love, pay the insurance for, or particularly care about. But after watching hour after hour of funny people screaming over the Neuralnet, the Commonwealth’s collective consciousness has finally been appealed to. Yes, that’s right, we’re offering you aid. Take it or leave it, but take it, preferably, if you wish to save lives.” *Shrugs* “It’s all the same to me mon ami”.

“What we do know of the on-the-ground situation is that a vast concentration of planetary infrastructure has been vaporised, and that a considerable number of people still need to be safely rehoused, preferably off-world whilst the planet convalesces. That’s where we come it. We’ve got ZXBT’s, tonnes of ‘em, and a load of bored captains ready to risk their lives (and quite possibly their reproductive organs), fishin’ ‘em off the irradiated surface and peaceably relocating them in a neutral location within the upper Taus, far away from the influence of either of the renegade combatants who have reduced the world to such a state. Put simply; we’re going to help you out; take the burden out of your logistical core. It’s a good offer, friends.”

“All you need to do is give the word. Now, friends, I realise you may not fully trust us; this is… somewhat understandable. Considering the eminent dogs-dinner existing as of present in Omicron ’74, the old illusion of Zoner comradeship is now what it once was. So take this offer… (this entirely free offer, I might add), for face-value and accept, so we may begin collaborating together… on mutually agreeable terms.”

“This is an offer friends. Accept with the generosity you’re famed for.”

"...Yes, how about you bloody get on and answer my incredibly generous (and, albeit, short-term offer) to aid with the great Gran Canarian clean-up project, before I immediately conclude the entirety of the Temporary Autonomous Zoners have in fact, mysteriously died or whatever and I lose any interest I may have previously maintained?"

"...Pray be quick, before I ram a lawyer down your collective gullets. Just exactly how long do you have to sit around talking to yourse.... Eris, before you lose interest and actually attend to the operations of your people? Ignoring people is awfully discourteous, my Discordant comrades."

"Oh and a hearty fuc<expletive>k off to you too, friends, it your disdain for Zonerkind ascends to little but rudeness."

"...Oh for the love of...!"

"Now I don't particularly care if this message is avenued into the Ford filter, the Mercedes filter, or the Jaguar filter, whatever, so long as it eventually reaches it's intended audience, namely something other than this irksome pre-recorded frippery that the neural net insists upon regurgitating whenever queried. What are you running sirs, a call centre? Exactly where's a human being/pope when you need one eh? But whatever, sirs. No hostility to either yourself (or your goddess) intended, of course..."

"Hmm. I knew this humanitarian "charity" business would prove pricklier than a wasp's arse..."

Bonjour, Monsieur,

The nuclear option is one we'd rather not pursue if we don't have to. We have made Gran Canaria our home and have been raising families and growing our crops not just for us but to sell to others as well.

Long ago, a Molly planet was glassed by nuclear weapons and all it did was make them bitter. I'd rather that not be us. That said, they do make a nice deterrent. I have a deep underground bunker for such things. I'm not about to wipe out worlds with them but being able to make a point might be a fine deterrent.

Let's keep this quiet. I don't need others snooping.

Richard looks at the transmission, he smiles. Before responding on it he grabs a cup of tea. Walks towards the commander seat of the ship and sits down. He looks outside and smiles again.. After that he opens the transmission.

Tei Kallistei Achille Augustin Nadeau,

I am intrigued by your transmission. The planets Hodge & Podge are in a good align, but do not forget we are all small inhabitants of different locations within the universe we call Sirius. *he takes a sip of his tea* We worship Eris for her decisions, some might be cruel, some might be not. But do not forget there is no peace without the spinning of the Wheel of Chao. For this your sounds interesting, there are only a few problems with it. Imagine if we would do this how would this affect our relations towards the others within the universe? * eats a biscuit*

I am fully aware of the current situation at omega-49 and well for tau-37 and our beloved Baffin. To be honest I think if anyone would invade Baffin Eris might stand up and strike back. It’s something some of us do believe. Myself I trust our templars for the security within and around Baffin. Myself I rather avoid combat, I do not believe in making a decision of one should be worthy to live or not.
As for your ZXBT captains I would suggest to smuggle in human organs. It is something which I am perfectly sure of the people of Omega-49 would benefit. The medical staff might even safe a lot of lives if they have these organs. If you really want to aid the people out there I would suggest you smuggle these in along with your other captains. It might be a hard task, but to save a lot of lives is always worth the risk. At least if it was my life, my decision would be the same.

On your reply I will wait 23’s

After he closed the transmission he informed everyone on the bridge and turned on the music. Started their trip towards Pueblo Bonito for some needed repairs and supplies. Richard and his crew did knew they had to stick together as one. Who knows maybe others might finally see this too. And head towards omega-49 and maybe see what is going on there and aid the ones in need.

"Ahem, good doctor, exactly what... are you referring to in your reply? May I make the minor suggestion that... hmm."

"Well it's blisteringly obvious that a certain man-in-a-tombstone perhaps missed certain vast swathes... ahem, meaningful points my pre-posted transmission. No matter."

"Let me repeat a repetition.."
*Sighs, then reconsiders.* "Actually, why do I bother... Ok. An idea..."

*grins manically*

"Monsieur Holiday, thanks a Bretonian bundle that you saw it fitting within the dark recesses of your heart to approve our little reallocation of the displaced populace; in the linguistics of the planet's most recent MIRV dispensary, the Corsair Empire; gracias. You should be seeing XZBT's darkening your skies... well... momentarily."

"And as to exactly what will happen to the Canarie... Canarians that the Commonwealth - in all it's glory - heroically (and certainly, with no attached ulterior motive) pluck from the irradiated topsoil? Why, nothing monsuir. Nothing but a peaceful re-allocation of human cargo, to a certain, sunny, paradise-like border world bearing interesting inhabitants, and a pro-active work ethic."

*Nadeau struggles to repress a giggle, then fails drastically.*

"Sir.... Doctor... TAZ, indeed all... well done for confirming our little scheme.... ahem, aid... work... thing. Good on you sirs, and may you all rest soundly in your beds, ever after."

"May discord grace you with her attributes."

"Ah Sir, pardon me for not being entirely erudite, and may I compliment you for the civility of your tone, it's quite becomes you. Anyway, our wish is to evacuate members of the Omega-49 orbital bombardment to a neutral location within the Commonwealth sphere of influence, well clear of either of the pre-combatants. This is something that every party stands to benefit from and will ease the current logistical stresses placed upon the world's already overcomplicated supply chain."

"I personally realise that the situation in that particular system is in the process of diffusal, this is both fine and welcome, but the destruction of planetside infrastructure in the orbital bombardment has left many Zoners homeless. Now, the Commonwealth (that's us), possesses the room to house these displaced personages. All we require is some kind of formal go-ahead from our Zoner compadres, and that's you. Considering the relative authority of the TAZ on these... matters, we considered it wise to route the idea through you first."

"The Commonwealth possesses the logistical capabilities to relocate those who wish to depart to a more suitable world sir, consensually and with the permission of those we take with us. In return for the go-ahead, the Commonwealth promises to supply Gran Canaria with much-needed supplies, including the pre-mentioned organs that can be provided through the Gallic back-channels. Put simply, we help the planet's citizens, and we also help you. In return, we gain a trade route. It's a win-win for everyone, especially the evacuees. "

"Does the idea sound pleasing monsieur? We'll supply GC with the relevant medical supplies, and in return we'll aid in carting away the refugees to the northern Taus and superior safety. It's a good offer, mon ami."
