Sometimes I join to play in my trader character just to take a look around and see what's going on (who's on) before deciding what I'm going to do (which character I'm going to play with). I also use my trader to move gear around while making an extra buck for future endeavours.

Yesterday I realized my trader was a bit off my usual route because I had done just that (move gear) a couple of days before. So I decided to circle around the upper part of Sirius trading to reach Bretonia, where I needed to pick up some other stuff. I hooked up with another trader, we procured ourselves an escort and then left Rheinland. Apart from the nice little piece of role playing I did with the other trader, what really surprised me is that I crossed half a dozen other traders in my way. Out of those six, five were tagged and IDed after some corporation. On my way to Bretonia I've seen: Republican, Bowex, Kruger, Gateway and Daumann. Couting my own, Interspace, those were 85% of the traders in the area with a mindset broader than that one we take most traders for.

I must say that in conjunction with Kusari's beautiful sceneries, that made up for a pleasant afternoon alright.

This thread's intent is to say: There's hope.

Yes.. there is hope... and 70+++% of the time things are really nice and fun with good Roleplay.... it's just the remaining 30% that can ruin it.

Thank you Gronath, hope is thus restored.

I am an outcast, and most of the piracy I end up doing revolves around flushing the corsairs out of sigma 13, (which is fun) dodging the bounty hunters (which is also fun provided they ain't in BS's the whole time, which over the last couple of weeks has actually happened less), then finally pirating traders. Now in sigma 13 there is quite a different story to pretty much anywhere else in Sirius. But when I have pirated elsewhere (which I recently got a bit of a telling-off or doing) pirating is a fun and pleasurable experience, and sometime in siggy 13 you get someone who is trying to do it right....

edited to complete post and correct spelling mistakes.

Only if you let it, Mjolnir.

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

Life's a piece of ****
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...

100% agreed.

Most of My RP is with Traders and you can chat for entire trade routes without losing the vibe once.

What is especially cool in some systems, is when you announce your intentions and military and police factions respond in their Roles...
(some will even fly out to meet you and escort you to your destination in that system - for no fee...!)

It pumps the experience awesomely.

Lovin it!

Happy for you, Gronath. You deserve something like that... a lot, with all the s*** you put up with, especially in the RM.

Some of the best RP I've had so far has stemmed from escorting traders, or when I'm on my trader, Heck, I've even had a blast RPing picking up spare parts for my Bretonian 'corvette" with the BPA.

There is definitely hope for the server, and I've even seen the most OORP, mindless nitwits, turn around, and actually thank people for helping them learn to RP.

and hey, its a good laugh on teamspeak when we say something akin to 'okay, check this one out, corsaid tag, hessian ID, outcast/kusari/corsair/order weapons, in a Rheinland gunboat"*

That and listening to Del go on and on about his gunboat.

*this is for example, I haven't seen one yet, but I'm sure I will, we have collectively spotted some truly outrageous and funny combos though.

==========================================================
.Cowboy : Back to being a bounty hunter due to Liberty politics, Flies a manta.
Gyrfalcon: The bounty hunting Bretonian corvette. At least, it will be if approved, Flown by "Cowboy" also.
LNS-Patriot : The little gunboat that could.... and then someday will be a beautiful LABC.
Freebyrd.II : insane trader/geneticist who has a whole hydro lab in his ship, he designs and grows his OWN.
Sky.High.Marin : Corsair praetorian pilot, with a love for fuzzy dice.
Kane.Taggart : Mad scientist in a hacker gunship being a buccaneer of the spacelanes.
