What is F1ing?

It's when you hit F1 and exit the game when fighting/being pirated. Completely ooRP.

F1ing is simply switching characters in space or anything that involves logging in space. In combat situations and if your trader char gets taxed by pirates it's illegal to F1 and can be fined very high.

example:

your a trader, a pirate asks you for tax. you dont say nothing, but open the menu (by pressing f1) and leaving the server. this is called f1ing, and is illegal. why? because ure trying to run out of paying a tax/fine, and its pretty annoying for the other guy whos trying to pirate u.

there are some nuts who intend on f1ing, and having all their money and stuff fined off them, while there are some nuts who act as pirates and try and tax anything that isnt them (eg: some guy in a corsair bomber, hacker tag and pirate id asked my HF gb: tax. i ignored and continued, he fired a Sn on me. big mistake. he was dead within 2 minutes.) in a completely non rp way. i mean cmon. every pirate has a mouthful to say when he is about to tax eh?

From an administrative point of view, it is the use of the F1 key to exit the game to avoid roleplay
responsibilities, either in combat, or in a pirating situation, to leave the game and swap to another
character to extract revenge.
Hope that is clear, as its seriously frowned on ...

Its just really really really not allowed and some factions will kick you out for that very reason. So does the JG, we are going to kick a member soon because of this very reason

Unless this problem was fixed, then I think that we are also forgetting a useful F1 action.

If you are flying a big ship, you occasionally will get "stuck" on big bases. In order to get "ejected" out, you can F1, choose new character, choose the same char, and sometimes, you will get separated.

Actually a game crash on the client side might be seen as an f1 also...

indeed. My computer has recently begun to crash from time to time when i play on FL, I dont know why. It just shut down, makes a big blue screen counting down 100 seconds, and restart. hopefully never hapenned yet in combat.
