On behalf of the whole of discovery, Can I please ask for a time frame as to when Player Bases will be reinstated / when will the rollback occur?

When we want you to be a spokesperson for the whole community, we will ask you, but that is yet to happen. Not sure if ever will...

About bases: Either they get a massive rebalance, the rules are getting updated or they stay off the server until either of the other two options happen. I'd prefer the first. Or the third.

As Discovery's Official Grumpy Old Man, I can state uncategorically and without denial that you're not speaking on behalf of me, or of the faction that I lead, and from what I can gather, you're also not speaking on behalf of the other faction that I belong to.

So in other words, since you were complaining in Flood about being butt hurt because you weren't chosen as an admin, this is a pretty good example of why there was probably a good laugh on skype when your name came up. (That's my supposition, based upon my time as an admin, and is not rooted in any conspiracy theory that I'm aware of at this time. That, and it's still Zelot's fault.)

As for PoB's - hey, they were an experiment. There are both good features to them and bad features to them. The sheer fact that a PoB can end up effectively locking access to a system when the Dev team itself doesn't put anything strong enough to do so out there - even in the Gallic systems with battleships sitting right on the jump gates, you still have a chance to get passed them - shows that they're overpowered and being abused.

And of course, since we've also seen the flip side of this, where massive player fleets show up to kill the base - regardless of role play - simply because they can (and because they're a--holes with nothing better to do) shows that the negatives outweigh the positives.

There ARE positives - don't get me wrong. Players work together to put up bases in the first place. And there can be and has been role-play generated by SOME of the PoB's. (As an example of good RP generated, the OZ guys that built their base in Zeta. Away from the Jump Hole, near a planet, and said that they were allied with the Order, so they were Core enemies. Cool, we went out to assault the base every so often, we'd get some pew, they'd get some pew, and there was forum RP between CHARACTERS that was vehement and bloodthirsty - good times.)

But on the whole, the negatives - including the minor (!) detail that people were cheating using bases - to me indicates that they need to go away or be nerfed in such a fashion that they cannot be abused like they have been. And quite frankly, I don't care how long it takes - or if they ever come back - and I'm speaking on behalf of myself and as the official position of my faction (which means, again, you ain't speaking for the whole of discovery).

To be honest Agmen I couldn't give a toss about you, your factions, your opinion of me or anyone else's for that matter. Have a laugh if you want its water off my back!!!

To everyone:
Fact is in relation to POB's, no POBs no players everybody wants to build their base and be happy. Bases breed activity and activity breeds further activity (pirates, base siegers etcetc)

You cannot now PoBs have been introduced to the game even though they are temporarily disabled turn around and say well since they disabled we shouldn't bring them back, NO. That is not how discovery works just because a few bird brains don't like them does not mean to try and use this as an excuse to get rid of them all together.

People have invested too much time into PoBs for them to be taken away just like that, also that is not how a Successful Freelancer Mod should function you don't undo features that have been added for people's fun that's just going backwards.

If POBs are removed I can tell you quite confidently now that discovery will loose half it's player base effectively tomb stoning this mod. People have put in too much work for them to let that slide.

I think everyone should stop trying to use "speaking for the community" to add weight to what they are saying. If you don't think your argument is strong enough to hold weight on its own, which is why you say "speaking for the community" then don't make the flargin argument to begin with. I would assume that most people don't want someone else speaking for them, and especially not the mentally deficient troglodytes who are doing it around here. Let everyone speak for themselves.

Edit: If the devs and staff feel like a change needs to be made, they are doing what they think is best for the community, we put our faith in these folks to do that, to watch for the best interests of the server. We need people doing it. Something comes to mind about having cake and also eating it, can't put it together though.

More diverse then it used to be, but The Order's "role" in a zoner life is meaningless and pointless, perhaps at times where zoners were weak and unable to defend itself, such times have changed. I see more reason for zoners to engage with the GMG, and not because the damn ID says so. Infact the true error the devs made is to actually put an ally on the damn card, last time I checked, zoners dont have allies apart from themselves, all others can be "friendly" at best - and If it had allies, it wouldn't pick a small "terrorist-recognized" group, however - from what I know, the order's role was to protect the zoners in the outskirts of the omicrons, such protection isn't required anymore - considering so many zoner factions and players. The only thing I can think of is a somewhat "clean" access to nomad related stuff for research, but such a thing is easier to do without their knowledge.
Anyways, I'm not picking on the order at the moment, I'm only saying - Theres no holy bond between these groups and I think people should start realizing it. Anyone that tells you zoners are allied with someone you can consider it a rumor at best.

In any case, less QQ and wait it out. POBs will be back if they come back, and they won't if they don't. Get on with your life. Have fun, shoot some pirates or furries. Get shot by pirates or.. Well, furries are laughable in the first place. Point is, crying about not having answers on forum won't give you answers the admins don't want to/can't give yet. It'll just be you, crying in a forum. And nobody likes to see people cry on the forum as amusing as it can be at times.
