If it takes 30 people to crew it, thats 30 possible collecters. Have you ever tried to fight more than 10 level 18 npcs?

Point is, the CR is inefficient for defense against xenos.
And I meant crew.

I have fought that many npc's at lvl 18+ at one time in the cr, it is not a piece of cake, and it requires a plan in order to survive.

I can only fly one ship at a time and not 30 collectors. I don't doubt what you said about 4 or 5 starblazers killing it. Before cap ship shields existed in another mod, I took down a rh bs in only a starblazer....after about an hour or longer fight. In the hands of a determined pilot most ships can be really deadly.

However in a group fight against Xenos it can serve a purpose, but like I said, I don't doubt multiple xenos could bring it down...it has happened twice. Several of those xenos have bombers, but what I like is that me having a cruiser forces them to use teamwork. Though I mostly play alone so I rarely have help on my side. As such I die often, but it is more fun to see a cruiser blow up than a fighter.

Hey why has no one mentioned this? That's the closest thing J's will have to a cruiser right there.

The Rheinland Cruiser or negociate term with IMG. Outcast will keep their warship for them.

Secretive means not necessarily known by the whole "basic, simple, plain" junkers. And it doesn't mean either that you are not a Junker. Everyone can try a different RP to add his own personal view. So live and let live even if it implies to be alone most of the time.

If Junker are not allowed to fly cruiser or more (limited) then remove the possibility on ID. I appreciate the initiative of asking the communauty so go go go David Grau.

Well at first I was thinking about buying the IMG battlecruiser for a Junker char, but people have made good points. At one time I was even going to make a Junker bs...but now...not going to happen.

Also that reply where you posted a link back to the post about the junker repair ship was great. Thanks, I had never seen that topic before about the Junker ship. I would love to see that in game.

I will keep what I got, it goes well into the RP story that I have created for my main chars. David Brennt flies a cruiser to explore the galaxy but was raised by Junkers and therefore is always loyal to them.

It was great to hear what everyone thought... So thank you all very much...now to get to bed so I can play tomorrow.:cool:

i main gripe is that on one hand people say junkers are individualist and then on the other they want to throw a couple dozen into a ship together and follow their captain where ever he wants to go....in RP, it doesn't make much sense to me.

normally i try not to limit what ships people can use but some factions just wouldn't have certain ships. i'll be against you playing a junker in a cruiser until i see appropriate RP to justify it

also what does "Limited" mean in the junker's ID in reference to gunboats and cruisers? does it mean that you need approval to use them? i'm not sure on that.

cruisers don't even really fit into debris fields. even with RP aside...your going to LOVE (/sarcasm) flying through debris fields in that thing.

On the subject of Xeno's do you know why so many of us fly bombers? Because you can't fly through New York without being accosted by three capital ships. The more capships proliferate, so do Xeno's in bombers. For the love of all that is good in this mod, please do not go hunting Xeno's in a cruiser. Fine to defend yourself but don't go out of your way to give us Xeno's something else to complain about.

So whats a good junker ship with a large cargo hold and good enough weapons to fight xenos? The CSV is a cool ship but its taking me forever to make money bc the cargo hold is not big enough. Also when I am out collecting junk the cargo hold fills up pretty quick.

Personally I don't want to get a large transport ship bc I don't feel that junkerish enough. If http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12099 ever makes into the game I will be in junker heaven.

voted all sort of "no" except for the rheinland cruiser - but only if it could be made ( or roleplayed ) as a decommissioned and outdated model ( sort of only uses low level equipment )

the main question is - what for do they need it. - in contrast to the zoners, who can somehow justify their silly large warship fleet, the junkers do not have enemies. ( the zoners are neutral - but in fact, there are quite some that are more on the hostile side than on the friendly side - but judge the zoners as "useful enough" .......... still )

junkers do not need to defend their installations, they don t have trouble with outlaws or lawfuls. but if there is need for a warship, i think a rheinland cruiser would be fine, cause rheinland ships "look" uncomplicated. ( both, to maintain and to build ) - and junkers have.. in my opinion a great understanding of technology. - not how it originally works, but how it can be made to work, maybe even more efficient than originally, but too complicated to go into mass production.

so - imo, a junker capital ship is a unique ship, no matter what type. it may share the shape of the original ( cause there is simply no choice ) but in inside, it will be all junker ( thinking of the millenium falcon, or the serenity )

junkers are on neutral / friendly terms with zoners, so i wouldn t mind seeing a junker purchasing a zoner ship, even a destroyer looks fine imo. - junkers are very unlikely to ever attack zoners or zoner installations.
