Shield limitations

I want your opinions here.

With the new BS shields in Discovery (I think Igiss is fixing this in 4.79.4) the BS Shield has become VERY popular, and I want everyone's opinion about this.

I'm seeing an insane number of ships now mounting BS Shields. Gunboats. Cruisers. Even trains.

So i want your opinion.. should we start limiting this as a server rule ? Such as:

BS Shield can only be mounted on BS's or Cruisers
Cruisers on Cruisers or Gunboats
Gunboat Shields on Gunboats or lower

What do you guys think?

Personally, I think the limitations would keep the game balanced for everyone.

Yeah the fact that gunboats are packing Battlship shields, and are next to impossible to kill.

Yup thats REALLY anoying... Cruisers having BS shields is anoying too because the cruiser has a shield that is specaly designed for it... it shouldnt go off and use someother shield thats ment for a BS.... battle ship shields are for the battle ship ONLY. not gunboats. not freighters. just battle ships.

I was under the impression that we were allowed to equip capital ships with BS shields. If I was misinformed, then I will gladly unequip the shields from my cruiser and gunboat and go stock until I found a viable replacement.

no just u cant put a BS shield on a gunboat u can leave it on the cruiser i just dont like it when people do that. but thats just me. not the admins so your ok. And thanks for that wolf. :laugh:

We did have the argument ages ago about BS shields on GBs.. Thought that was going
to be sorted anyway.

It cant. :) if you meen where i said about frieghters mounting them? there is a class 10 frighter with a class 10 shield so it can hold the BSs shield. ive seen some one goin round with one of them... they stayed in a freighter cause of it. but its unfair. so i think igiss or wolf made him take it of ( thanks).
