Give missiles to freighters.

This is the point. Nobody uses freighters except as a brief go-between ship until they can buy their first REAL money-maker: a transport. You need to give people a REASON to stick with a freighter other than its high cruising speed (which may make it good for a racing ship...but not much else).

When the fact that freighters are seldom used because of their lacking combat potential is brought up, the usual answer is that the omnipotent turret steering and zoom counterbalance the well known drawbacks.

I agree with Karst, however some say that turret steering is enough. Sadly.

well why not but make it a own type wich the ammo needs cargo (no big numbers but like every missle 0.15 cargo)

that is when the missile is powerfull (powerfull weapons should have drawbacks in some form)
