Because the insane standards we keep upholding for "RP Quality", making fun and trolling anyone without a degree in the English Language and or anyone flying a ship they would like to fly regardless of their time spent on the server.

Because old players keep finding server crapy to play, thanks to PoBs, cloaks, TS,TZ, plot, easy acceptable caps.
New players keep finding server crapy to play, thanks to huge wall of text, which should be read, or you can find you reported for OORP. PvPwhores, TS,TZ.
Yea, since PoB population droped like, straight down to the center of earth. Oh and mineing nerf. People just log 2 maybe 3 hours to supply their bases, get some ore and make some money and that's it. Oh boy even now I remember the Dublin-Omega-7-Tau-23 system. Full of miners, full of pirates along the trade routes, the law pewing the outlaws, it was fun. Oh and the 198 player count and 129032 clicks just to connect and to jump in when Liberty made and invasion in Rheinland or Reheinland in Liberty. Fun, old times.
Also... sorry dev team for my words, however, I bet you don't care much.
Problem is, that disco devs has wrong thinking strategy. Sounds weird, np, I will describe.
Devs thinking: Let's add tractor beam to NPC and they will steal stuff in space, so this will end solo mining and solo hauling. Players will mine in groupe, and RP more.
But.
Majority of players just stoped with mining.
86 does not had even 50% of mining activity of 85. Yeah, it was oorp in some time, yeah, it was easy cash for some players, BUT, in same way, there were interactions. I remember, there were players 24/7 in Dublin and Omega 7 systems.
Then, a VERY stupid move with the Order. After few month, I really missed those LNS/Core raids into Minor, and then pay back in Alaska, Delta and Kappa. Now... you might find Omicrons one of the most boring places.
Again, even if those raids were lolish, they were fun, there was action, even RP. People were interested in loging in and play. Yes, there were many lolwutness, but ppl were ok to deal with it. People were ok to kill battleship armadas with bombers. And battleships were blowing up, not cloack and run.
There are still many things, which I liked in 85, and which i disliked in 86, from missions (OC missions in Eta, hell with it, that it's npc farming and so on, but ppl were logging in, playing, some of them started to become good players, and now... we just have empty useless system, and player count drop).
So, attitude like: Let's nerf it/remove/delete, so players will do more things together, nope in solo not working... ppl wont do it in groupe, ppl wont do it at all.
I'm pretty sure that my writing will get deleted too, but yea. Let's give it a try, at least this is my opinion right now, and have to say it.
The reason that disco will die soon is a combination of several things. Since the "community" means skypefriends, people are starting to realize that some will be treated differently than others. In a negative way. But that's just the top of the iceberg.
Admins and devteam are getting lazy, careless -insert random "but they also have lives" excuse..Sure, but then don't bother with developing the mod or at least wait till they come up with something that is actually playable..oh, but that'd take a lot of time. So? We can wait..rather than bug all day.
An other thing: reports.
If some officials or admin puppets [no offense, rly] report someone, his report will be processed in a day max if not hours (poking on skype, etc). This can take weeks or a month for a normal player. And as I said before, the treatment is different. So better get some admins friends on skype.

The answer is simple: The mod was finished already when they released it.
What happened this time: Releasing a mod which is not even halfly done, full of bugs, ships can't dock because of their new size, insta banning people when they try to log, etc...the list is infinite.. It's more likely a joke than a mod.
There will be a rollback, so people are going to loose their stuff. And I'm afraid we're talking about months here. Hell, they didn't even put a notice on the front page.
So yea..it's because of many things and there is nothing that can be done to stop it. Or maybe, if they stop forcing this brandnewsuperbohmygodawesome .87, rolling back to .86, finish the .87 till it's really in at least beta phase instead of omega. Then releasing it again. Or make a new test server for it.

Man, I laughed so much at this. "Mod was finished already when they released it". Wut?! Were you there when 4.86 was released? Judging from your words and joining date, you were not. Otherwise you would know that 4.86 was so much not done.
First few days, server was not stable for more than twenty minutes because there was several bugs especially cap bugs which forced server to crash or at least your game CDT. Tons of people get banned by new anti-cheat. People couldn´t dock. People couldn´t undock as they exploded in atmosphere. Some trade lanes didn´t work properly. Lot of people was stuck in Conn because they had ship there before update. Lot of people were stuck in Conn because they went there after update and due to but stayed stuck there. Almost all things which were intented as main new stuff (cloaks, POBs, jump drives, docking modules) were not implemented yet or was bugged.
So please, next time don´t speak about times you don´t remember, okay? You only look funny then...
4.87 release have some problems but it is fine and dandy comparing how much painful was release of 4.86

The only reason it would be deleted is because this sounds like a Karlotta alt post - and even then it wouldn't get deleted, you'll simply end up being banned. Again.
And no, 4.86 wasn't finished when it was released, either.
