3. There will be no ship that one cannot buy or get in-game.
So basically, leave the spenders alone or praise them that they are adding to the development of awesomeness out of their wallets.
I myself would buy a cool ship if I had spare money, not to get advantage over other, but to have more fun in game.
Though I start to see the strech goals as a way of milking more money as such functions (Hibernation, pistol) should be no-brainer.
It's like adding arrows to Tomb Raider for reaching final strech goal when the bow itself is an iconic weapon.
Also, it feels as eternity untill alpha.
The pledge goals are basically just announcements of stuff that was going to be in game anyways. Hibernation/carrier/etc. That's all stuff that has been on the drawing board forever. TBH after the sound and mocap studios they depleted the "would be nice but we can't get this with investor money" shopping list and they're now on full steam to just put as much distance between themselves and third party investment.
Stuff like the laser pistol is like the RSI suit. Little high fives.
Just so I get this straight.. are people really spending 250 dollars, on a ship? Like spending 250 dollars... on a Liberty Navy Guardian or something?
And 100 people have just bought basically a Liberty Carrier, for 1,000 real usd?
Yep also in the picture that I posted someone spend more then 4000 USD.
We live in interesting world.
Also I find the suit thing really good addon:
Quote:Class I — basic protection; essentially a plastic bag. Think a Tyvek suit. Class I suits protect against vacuum during a hull breach but they can’t be worn for EVAs.
Class II — This is the “standard” suit for non-military pilots. Keeps you safe in the cockpit and is maneuverable enough in combat. Has limited EVA capabilities, although to do anything effective in zero G you need attachments that will slow it down.
Class III — Heavier civilian suit. A little slower and less maneuverable than the class II, but has increased armor. You’ll have a harder time moving around in boarding, but you can take more hits.
Class IV — Military suit, as seen in the Squadron 42 trailer. This suit is armored to protect against cockpit damage, has various self-repair features, advanced tactical display, etc. Roughly as effective in EVA as the class II is in a boarding operation.
Class V — Advanced Military Suit. This is a much more expensive and rarer class of suit. Think the difference between a standard fighter pilot suit and the ones worn by an SR-71 crew.
Class VI — Marine armor. Too bulky to wear in a cockpit, but much more effective in boarding operations. A pilot wearing a class III suit might fly a cargo load of his friends in class VI suits to attack a freighter.
Class VII — Heavy Marine Armor. This is a heavy weapons suit with mech upgrade for carrying heavy weapons.
Class VIII — Full blown EVA suit, similar to a modern space suit with an MMU.
Class IX — Full blown mech suit. Somewhere between a space suit and the power loader from Alien. These repair the outsides of large ships, move heavy objects in hangars, etc.

(yes, i've seen enough of those lolduels, where house military with overwhelming force on the field willingly loses a pilot in a duel. ffs.)

Leave the spenders alone? I wasn't attacking, just clarifying. Re-read.

Reminds me of when I waited for the "10 10 10" countdown.
However, I'm afraid that this livestream will be too late for most europeans (who work). Maybe I'll watch the first few minutes.
I am sure you can always catch the recording.
