Basically the title. Why is this obvious Bretonian base planet not ground into dust and surrendered to the Gauls yet? Why would the Gauls completely ignore an obvious foothold of an enemy behind their lines while conquering the space in Leeds? Yes, there's a minefield, but minefields can't hold back everything forever. It's also a planet undergoing terraforming, not a major military installation. Any resistance should have been worn out over time from the sheer lack of supplies delivered. I'm not missing something on this, am I?

The Kusarians never managed to take it when they invaded Leeds either.

I think that pretty much answers your question. It doesn't really hold any significance, isn't really a threatening installation and wouldn't really offer much if conquered. Just doesn't worth the effort to care about it yet from a military perspective.

It is pretty unusual, I think it has simply been forgotten about. Either that or there is a massive planetary shield made of Silver repelling all attack.

Also going to move this to the general section, more a development choice (to not include it) than a bug.

I still think IMG should take over the planet sneakily and silently. GRN obviously doesn't want it, and IMG could continue the terraforming with the help of the PFI people (saying they are IMG)...

Or something.
I always wondered how Bretonia kept that planet no matter what happened: being cut off in Leeds, being cut off in Edinburgh, and now being cut off completly...

Roleplaying out mixed remnants of Harris defence wing cooperating with BAF, blockade supplies running operatings with Bowex, guerilla warfare deep inside GRN controlled territory and such is awesome roleplay possibility for Planetform [Image: emoticon-00142-happy.png]

It's not "blockade running" it's "going deep into enemy controlled space and try to dodge a mine-field only then to supply a base".

The only inRP explanation I could find is that it's simply not significant enough yet.

The forces on Harris can't form an attack on the Gallic forces at the area, for GRN it would be better to just go on and let the planet surrender once it realizes it lost any hope.

It really has no strategic use for gaulls so why bother to spent manpower and ships to take it? It also represents no danger to them. InRP is just a ball of mud.

Here's my question: From a business perspective....why is ANYONE from Planetform still on Harris? Is the terraforming finished? If not, does Planetform really see any financial benefit in continuing on the project behind enemy lines with no real idea if the investment is worth any future gain? Heck, they abandoned Perth in Edinburgh, so what's on Harris that is worth keeping? If yes, are they just trapped there waiting for a relief force?
