Born and brought up in the palmy space for traders, Myself Chris saw the first day of my life on Planet California.
My Dad is an Engineer at Trenton Outpost and my mother is a nurse at Californian International Hospital. I completed my Education at University of California and did my Honours on Business Management at the same. I passed in merit as I was given a Scholar medal in the subject.
I flew a Transport solo, involving myself in different trades, rather to sit lazed for months.
Already have discovered almost three-fourth of the entire Sirius sector, I got a good knowledge about different kind of routes that includes pirate-prone, and profitable ones too.
Almost hauled over 1000K plus cargo with an efficiency of more than ninety percent, I was quite popular among my clients about getting the work done.
Now that I believe its time for me to be with a group; more a family, which considers its members as of its own. And Independent Miners Guild is the one. Fortunately they are out of the bonds of the oppresive corporate groups who, with their various schemes, try squeeze the profits of their traders and employees.

Later I worked as mechanic deep inside the hulls of big transports but did not have much chance to learn about the actual flying. Picked up my schoolbooks when I was 32 and decided to study for Engineer. After finishing the study 6 years later I got myself monstered on a Firefly transport.

Which are your personal reasons for joining the Guild ?

My former ship was involved in a little smuggling. During one attack of Outcasts in Tau-23 our captain was killed and I replaced him. The next stop I expected the crew to disband but we stuck together for another 2 years. In the end we ran into a patrol of Gallia Navy and were forced to land. They confiscated our cargo and our ship. Since then I have been looking for new ways to regain a solid crew but within the loose structure of a faction. One pebble can't scare away a lion but if you throw 100 pebbles at him he will run off.

I have been roaming around but can't fit in the hierarchical structure of the big houses so I am naturally attracted to The Independent Miners Guilds.

759-776 A.S. - Leroy 'Jethro' Gibbs was born to parents Jackson and Ann Gibbs in 759 A.S. in a remote colony named 'Stillwater' colony on Planet Erie, Pennsylvania.

Even from a young age 'Jethro' was extreemely driven, heavily opinionated and truly stubborn; ranging from topics such as his personal pride or even the merits of service to ones house.

'Jethro' raced through his schooling as quickly as possible so he may best serve his house and be the best he can, this saw him sacrificing relationships and his development with his father.

Some say his extreeme focus on his future and service was his way out, his distraction from the troubles at home, with his mother leaving and her eventual death, a gap was formed between father and son, a gap which was not to be repaired for years to come.

777 A.S. - 'Jethro' enlisted in the Liberty Navy at age 18, a decision which shaped his future and distanced himself from his father for nearly 30 years.


After completing initial training, 'Jethro' followed the path of a Space Marine, as any war is not won without boots on the ground.

778-783 A.S. - After completing his training as a Space Marine, and specialising as a Military Policeman (MP), Gibbs, as he had been aptly named in typical military fasion, maintained order aboard the LNS-Nevada, an Enterprise Class Assault Carrier.

After spending 5 years on a rotational shift on this ship, investigating petty crimes and the like, he wished to pursue a different avenue of his military career.

783-784 A.S. - 'Jethro' married his wife, Shannon to which they became parents the very next year in 784 A.S. to daughter Kelly.

784 A.S. - Not long after alerting his supervisor to a desire to shift roles, Gibbs was selected as a long range reconnaisance operator, due to his unique skillset as an investigator and his crack shot.


Gibbs was posted to a long range scout and special operations vessel; The LNS-Guadacanal - a Defiant-class gunboat outfitted to penetrate deep into Rheinland space and drop special operatives on Planets and stations to gather intelligence or carry out black operations.

Gibbs served with distinction over the next 16 years of his career, with several succesful tours, several lost friends and an event which would change his life forever.

792 A.S. - Tradgedy struck Gibbs in the one place he was weak, family. Gibbs lost his daughter and wife whilst on operations. This was all as a result of a cowardly Outcast smuggler who believed his operation was compromised, the witness was Shannon, Gibbs' wife.

Gibbs was returned from active duty and was awarded some weeks of compassionate leave for his loss. In a bloodstriken rage he took it upon himself to hire out a mercenary to deliver him to Planet malta where he was to exact his revenge in a vigilante fashion.

800 A.S. - Gibbs held on to the Navy for another 8 years, as it was the only family he had left. He eventually succumbed to the pressures of his loss and pursued an alternative career.

801 A.S. - Gibbs returned to his roots and joined the LPI under a special investigations department where he continued to serve Liberty for another 18 years by investigating crimes involving military personell.

819 A.S. - Gibbs retired from this line of work and purchased his own ship, a rusty old Uruz which he restored and operated as a freelance trader and supply vessel. He named the vessel after his late daughter - The.Kelly

820 A.S. - Gibbs, throughout his journeys, had many encounters with the IMG and was again, looking for a 'family' to fill his void, he believed he had found it this fateful day on Freeport 4.

IMG Goals: Other than the obvious of being mainstream Miners and a guild of tradesmen sick of being under the control of political corporate heads? I believe the IMG aims to create an equal society based on mutual respect and hard work. They value any neutrality but will fight for their rights and have done so in the past. The IMG is a lot like a good street of neighbours, each one is willing to do a favour for another, as they are all in this world together and are all equals.

Biography: I was born on Crete, peasant family. Inducted into a gang as a youth, I have lived and breathed crime for as long as I have been capable of thought. I worked my way up from a common street thug to a trusted pilot for the Benitez family. I have stolen, I have hurt, I have killed - it was all I knew for most of my life. Not once did I think there was another way - my world stretched only as far as Crete for thirty years - not until I started smuggling artifacts for the Benitez family. I was amazed to find a different world out there, a lawful world, and I vowed to escape my 'people'. It took me six years and every dirty credit I had to ensure I would be properly forgotten on the smuggler's transport that took me to the nearest Freeport and the small ship I had arranged. Scoured Sirius for a while, found out that the houses aren't very accepting of strange pilots with Hispanic names. The only work I could get was with zoners, good people, but I wanted something more. A contact of mine told me about the IMG and here I am, hoping to find the new life I so crave.

Charmed by the cooperative aspect of IMG organisation and wanting to operate closer to my home system, and since Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing is considered by some to be aggressive in nature by expanding at the expense of the other corporations, IMG seems to be the best perspective to continue working in the mining industry.

Biography:

Much of my early life was spent drifting from station to station throughout the Border Worlds and Edge Worlds. When I was very young my father who worked aboard a BMM mining ship ‘The Celestial Spirit’ was killed in an Outcast raid. With very little in the way of credits and no compensation from the BMM after the attack my mother was left to raise me on her own with virtually nothing to support. Much of my youth was spent scampering around the decks of Freeport 7 with the other children who inhabited the station. At a very young age I found that I had an affinity for anything to do with mechanics and engineering. Often I would hang around the docking bays of the Freeport picking up small maintenance and repair jobs on the ships that docked in an effort to earn some extra credits. As soon as I turned 16 in order to support my mother further I secured a position on a convey headed for planet Kurile and left the Freeport. That’s how I spent the next 6 years, going from convoy to convoy just trying to find at least semi-permanent work.

When Freeport 7 was destroyed, my mother along with it, I slowly slipped into a drunken depression. I don’t know how much time between then and when I met the Captain, must have been a year at least. There I was a drunken wreck lying in an alley outside a hole of a bar in the lower levels of some forgotten station somewhere in the Tau’s. I don’t know what he saw in me, must have been some potential or I wouldn’t have been signed up. His name was Lyons Vaughn, an ex-Kruger Minerals miner turned independent. He was as wise as he was experienced while also being stern but fair. To put it simply he was my mentor an eventually my best friend. He got me on my feet again and before I knew it I was standing outside an obscure docking bay on some level of the station. His ship the ‘Fortune’s Prospect’ was the grandest and the oldest ship I had ever laid eyes upon. An old DU5-7Y mining vessel its hull was weathered with age and plasma and laser scoring pock-marked the structure.

The next 10 years from then on would be the best and most defining years of my life. After so many years of wandering I had found a home Lyons had not just selected me to be just another crew member but to be his protégé as well. Lyons was my guide and teacher. He taught me the art of navigation, when a smuggler would be offended If you offered him too little for his services and whether a pirate would pose a real threat or just be microwave ready cannon fodder. After 7 years aboard the Prospect I had become an established and trusted member of the crew and the captain’s second in command. Around this time though Lyons had become increasingly ill, often retreating to his cabin not to emerge for days at a time. With this occurring the crew looked to me more and more for guidance and my position of command became more prominent and demanding. The next 3 years were a repeating cycle, of highs and lows and struggles to pull through. Lyons eventually passed away though he left me with one more surprise, this would prove to be one of his greatest gifts of all. He had given me the ‘Fortune’s Prospect’ itself.

One of the IMG’s most integral goals is to provide honest labour to its members where the money earned goes to the actual worker not some corporation or house. This work orientated policy ensures the most well-known of the IMG’s goals is fulfilled, that fair treatment and adequate profit from honest labour is up held.

What can you contribute while in the guild?

All I can promise you is a hardworking crew and ship willing to do some honest work for honest pay and with this in mind hopefully help carve out a place in this harsh universe which everyone can benefit from. I and my crew are experienced in both asteroid and planetoid mining. If you do accept me into the ranks of the IMG I will do my best to uphold the guild’s core values.

What are you personnel reasons for joining the guild? Which department would you like to join?

I have been the captain of the ‘Fortune’s Prospect for a number of years now. Lately I have been finding it hard to secure any really profitable contract from clients because they turns use down in favour of corporate owned and operated mining ships. Because of this I have found that I have been barely able to meet the maintenance costs for the ship and I fear I will have to sell her, which is something I dread the most. Otherwise I might have to find work with the BMM and with what they did to me and my mother that is something I would not consider unless I was very desperate. I would like to apply for a position within the mining department.
