In Bucegi, i took the cable car from Cabana Pestera up to Vf Babele, then i hiked to Vf Omu and back to Pestera around the valley. Took about 8 hours in total. I highly recommend this hike. Saying it's spectacular is an understatement.

Nice.

I should hike as well. Never tried it. I suppose it's utterly entertaining

I try to go hiking at least once a year, it's pure health, i have met 70 year old people on trails, and everyone is nice to each other on the mountain. Except in the crowded areas, where stupid people hike in sneakers.

I always thought the thumb-over-bore thing was a bit of an odd stance.

Retired, permanently.

Thumb over bore stance is very useful in competition shooting, when you have to transition between targets and between pistol and carbine. I run a Magpul angled foregrip on my Stag Arms Model 2 and since I shoot in isosceles with my pistol moving between them seems effortless. But I think it is different for every person, just don't knock straight arm until you try it yourself.
