Not many games can keep on operating after being a decade old. Things tend to get replaced by newer installments. Yet, there is the Discovery community is still active both in game and in the forum. So what is the reason that encourages you to be here?
As a side question, do you think the community will degrade greatly when star citizen is released?

and I didn't find any alternative yet - a multiplayer space sim with first person perspective combat, easy to handle without tons of keyboard bindings.
Low resource requirements. My netbook can handle it.....and.....the game is still fun for me when I got time to play it the way I like to play. Most of what others have said as well....easy interface, familiarity with the forums and storylines. Reading others Roleplay stories.
Interactions with people and the creativity a human opponent can bring into game you have to counter. And of course - Space!
I believe Star Citizen will be something like "Buy ship for real money" "If it gets destroyed you lost it forever" "Buy another for real money" And so on. I don't think it will be free at any level so Freelancer has a potential to live a very long life!
People and RP. Where do you have to explain others why you shoot pirate or arrest them? This is really great game, and it would be much better if there were more veterans left.
You just have to explain all your behavior, Thats what I enjoy the most in this game.
