The best thing to do is to not think about how to get in shape. Just eat fresh and well, do sports and enjoy life. Women don't like body-builders but happy men with a healthy self-confidence.
I'm satsified with my body and I do eat, drink, smoke whatever and whenever I like. It's all about the psyche.
You don't have to diet if you don't enjoy it. Just spend time in the gym, run intervals. Run intervals as this will greatly increase your metabolism over a longer time. Your body will keep burning calories hours after you've stopped the running. That did the trick for me, or well, the other way around. I was very skinny before. My abs became visible quite fast from interval-running and then put on some muscle by going to the gym. I don't diet at all, I eat like a f****** dinosaur. And I enjoy it too,
The best way to diet and lose weight, is to calorie count, and never go over the limit you set yourself, how many calories to intake is your choice, it's based on how much exercise you get, what job you do etc.
If you consume less energy than you use on a daily basis, you lose weight, simple as that.
You can eat healthily too of course, make sure you're still taking in some fatty foods as they're necessary, and eat plenty of fruit and veg to increase vitamin/mineral intake. Could also take vitamin tablets if you're worried, but really it's unnecessary.

I haven't worked out in like a year really and i still have my 6-pack (nerd). Thats my indicator if i need to do something
Just eat and make sure u burn more than u eat. That way u dont get fat and obese.
The only way to increase metabolism is to get some exercise, people that move around a lot, have high metabolisms, people that are lazy *'s have slow metabolism, they don't need to metabolize all that energy from those Big Macs quickly, coz they are just sitting around doing nothing (probably thinking of more food).
It makes me laugh when people say "it's not my fault I'm fat, I just have a slow metabolism".
Basically all they're saying is "It's not my fault I'm fat, I'm just a lazy * that eats too much", yet they don't even realise it hahaha

Im retty damn skinny and im sitting around all year doing nothing but school projects -_-
Eat 5 times a day instead of 3, it sounds counter-productive, but eating more frequent meant your stomach don't need to be as big as if you eat only 3 times. Look camels with that bags who drink only when they are in a Oasis.
Exercise is about 50% of the diet. It's better low level of exercise but longer time than fast and short exercise.
