I really hope this is the right thread.

So for a while now (many years) i was pimping my cruiser and drone in order to make something "AWSOME".But i found a few drawbacks.

AI Cruiser:
-There are 63 light hardpoints visible...the rest appears as disabled,expecialy the ones near the "cirlce" and front of the ship,the ones that change colour from green to orange/blue.
-Placing XL lights in this spots can mask the standard colour but still its visible...the ideea is to make personalized ships...if thats posible.

AI Drone:
-Has only 2 light spots (the 2 docking ones)
-Has many more lights but those appear disabled


Is there a way to change them? Or only admins can do this? It would be really Awsome to see a red/purple tint Drone fflying around.And if its posible how one can make this?

I don't think that it is possible in general...addable have to say your Cruiser looks much individual and cool though...

Another thing i fount is that...exept the fins and tail lights...NO one is centered..,but using XL lights can mask that but in the end you will have lights that do not fit the specified slot

Bumpy, I summon Aerelm to have a look at this thread if he is not too busy. Please!

I'd really like to be able to hit the light toggle button to emote the thought processes of my AI drone. I love roleplaying in it and I think it would add a new level of "emotion" to the AI line.

The "toggle lights" key you can assign in option only toggles docking lights, so regardless of how many lights the ship actually has, it only turns the docking lights on and off. You can mount different lights on those slots but cant turn them on and off individually, since that key toggles all the docking lights together.

As for the standard light hardpoints on those ships: There's a limitation in FL engine on how many "items" can be on one character. Anything on the ship, including guns, equipment, and even lights counts into that, so we can't put too many lights on one ship as it'd break the ship and may even corrupt the character. The AI cruiser in particular had too many lights in 4.86, which was causing problems and had to be toned down with 4.87.

tl;dnr version - Sorry, but not much I can do about this. If you have any suggestions for rearranging the existing light hardpoints to make the ship more "customizable" via pimpship, feel free to post a new thread with the suggested positions and I'll give it a look.
