Yes we were unlucky to have bass hunters but atlwast we no longer have.lolwut pob builders who build troll bases, such as in iota. ( btw whoever did this was a genius )
1. Some of them are in places that make player interaction very hard
(in mining fields, close to JH or JG).
2. They have weapon platforms whit ridiculose amount of turrets on them.
3. They are supplayed with low cost commoditys..like 250c, 500c per unit.
-why would I pay pirate if I can lose only 250c per unit?
-if pirate demands cargo... 250c per unit is .... well 5k*250c = 1.25Mc ..
4. Barge-just this!!! If you have it you don't need any help to supplay base.
Soo what to do?
1. Remove bases from those spots please.
2. Let them eat lot of fuel (comoditys) when weapon platform turrets are on.
Some fuel that is not cheap and is hard to get.
3. Return old system with regular comoditys please.
4. Remove Barge from game.
Lords will rule their land as they see fit, and the serfs shall merely beg.
Nah i dont think that weakening the bases defences is good thing. Neither rising supply demands. I think that real question are those 74 bases all RP ing in some manner with community. I can recount maybe at most 10 bases who have some meaningfull active RP and interaction. Eventually 10 more as some kind of RP meaning but passive in nature.
And most are purposless. I will make one example. Junker Saltese base in humboldt in 4.86 was one of the most frequented base and best POB project of 4.86 . But recently we discovered junker base in Leeds 50k from a plane or such. It is core 4 . I have never heard for that base , never saw any post that that base offer something to others...
Concept of (hidden) bases for anti-interaction is maybe cool , but useless for community. And it is bad that those players need to supply them for no rp purpose and by time become hostages of their own bad RP as they move and move forward in wrong direction building more and more that kind of bases, wasting their time which thez could invest in some better RP ideas.
Purge bases who are community redundant. Purge troll bases near jh.

...excuse me?
Did you just tell me that I'm wrong and that my plugin modifications are to blame and I should know better about my work?
Hah.
My primary set of modifications are currently not live -- We're running the exact same base plugin we were in 4.86 with a very limited set of bug patches to prevent duplication of items.
Server load is not lag, but it contributes significantly to lag. The more work the server has to do increases the time between update ticks -- the internal timer counter in FLServer -- which increases the time between client synchronisation, causing delays between client and server, and by extension, client and client, better known as lag.
This is basic logic. If something is taking up the server's time, the server doesn't get other stuff done on time.
Before you try to tell the trained programmer and systems administrator he's wrong, Tel, remember that this is why people make fun of you.

I disagree. All three Zoner Alliance stations are still active.
But I do wonder though Kazin, howcome when there were like 130+ bases in 4.86, my lag was never like this?
Is it really the base plugin because I remember the game being smooth as ever with that many bases around but ever since 4.87 update 3 or 4, it's just been a nightmare to get into PvP. I am not saying you are wrong, I just don't get why it would be so different with less bases now.
