I have to agree with the others in that the name Phantom belongs to the original faction creators and lore. I also agree that the faction should be allowed to rest in piece as it stands. The faction was gone before I got here but their lore is still recognized by many and I have had inRP conversations with passerby's about the last time the "Black Terror's" were seen.

With that all said, if we are hell bent on bringing them back. I would like to offer this as an alternative to what's been said.

Leave the original RP only, get rid of the original ID, and run a new RP that can be taken from the old one. A fast example I came up with while looking through the thread (written in RP dairy form)...

January 11th 821A.S.

"It's been years since anyone has even heard their name in the galaxy. Their ships would appear from seeming no where and destroy all they saw. I was tasked with finding a way to counter them, finding a way to beat them, then they vanished."

Something like this would allow you to keep the original lore intact without having to alter it, and it can be easily adjusted to fit a variety of ideas (This was based on an obsessed ex-intel agent working a science division, it can be a freelancer who got lucky, military agents looking for new technology to win one of the many wars on this server, etc.)

If this is going to be brought back, then let us bring it back with respect to the original lore. There can be endless reasons why the phantoms suddenly stopped appearing in RP and equally as many as to why the technology, if not the original people, has found it's way back into the sector.

As entertaining as seeing phoon ships would be, I don't think reviving old RP is a good idea.

Yohance's idea is just one of many. Also an RP contest would be great.

Isn't memory something that is no longer present? At least that's how I would define it.
