I always figured that if it came down to opening or deleting them, they'd be considered unable to be made open and subsequently deleted. I didn't expect this. Quickly now there's some other old material from the old days lying around. In the many times I've stated "if it can't be made open to the public, delete it". Go delete them before they resurface in the future with another admin team. Quick before you forget. You know the stuff; Necrosis, Venator, Battlestar, Thor Mk8====>, to name some examples and for the heck of it toss in Phooms as well. Trollol.
So you're opening up assets to be developed yet you've failed to develop the multitude of other assets that have been live and used for years........
How about developing one of the factions that already exist on the server before you go start developing something new? Novel idea, I know. Oh and good try to save face. That wall-o-text doesn't make anyone think that was really your true intention.

It's clear that you guys don't really "get" the Phantoms or the concepts of the older generation. The idea of a force of nature that interjects into your peaceful afternoon to stir the pot is, judging by the wall of green in the OP, a foreign concept in an age of submitting forum requests to pull the trigger.
The Phantoms are from the old days. Leave the name and legacy alone. This is the equivalent of resurrecting Mon'Star in the form of a grumpy old man in a Liberty 5k.
Leave it alone. Build something new. God help you if we actually wake up Kane and you have to insta ban one of the people who built this place out of nothing because he doesn't hold back in letting you know what value he places on this half baked nonsense.

A bunch of black matte imported ships with nomad engines slapped on, two copy pasted rock bases in the middle of nowhere and some copy pasted krakens/archangel debs with edited stats. Discovery indeed needs more assets, but not in this form. There's absolutely no need to keep that redundant unused junk in the game, while there's still stuff like the Bullfrog (lol) and others in the game. Discovery doesn't need more NPC factions either, certainly none with 'assets', like the defunct HF and RoS.
Hmmm there seems to be a clash of the ancient aristofart discotitans going on.
This is all the more interesting to me because I recently had a discussion where someone called my nomad RP half-baked nonsense, and when I read his stuff I found out that it was pretty much the same nonsense as mine, except that it was even less than half baked, and that "he posted it somewhere first in 2008 so he gets to do it but I cant".
Now I again gape in awe at the delusions of grandeur caused by "being the first" (... in disco to have missed the call when Bram Stoker asked for his Dracula back), and by being the supercool PvP-superpros with the superexlusive really bad-ass supergear.
Still have to agree that the name "Phantoms" should be dropped if someone here put a copyright on the word. I'd go even further.
Remove all phantom-related names from the imported ships and call them Slipstream and Raven's Claw again, and give them a good inside out soapy scrub to remove that cheesy smell, so that people can have fun filling it with their "own" brand of cheddar, camembert, or Gouda.
Because you don't smell yourself like you smell other people, and it's always less bad when you think it's emanating from yourself instead of from the old person who was there before you.

Are you guys insane with bringing back the Phooms? If you want to create a scary ass boogeyman for Sirius - you don't need the Phooms. Just de-nut the dev team and let the Nomads and K'Hara be the nasty, scary bad ass aliens that they're SUPPOSED to be under ... you know, the lore of the original game! Sure, Trent killed many of them - but that's because it was in the script.
Okay, enough said. Returning to lurk / grumpy old man mode...

People want drama.
People get drama. There are two options: either bring them back at their full power (who would be playing for them in that case?) or just forget them fully and cut out all related stuff from the game.
