You know I might start a tally of rabid firefly fans who feel the need to boycott this model update but seriously, throwing a hissy fit will make no difference, it hasn't during Swallow's development of the model and it won't when it finally goes into the mod.

Your beloved TV show is dead and clinging on to an imported model will not bring it back. Move on.

First of all i am a huge fan of the series. And i fly a fly since years and it is my most used ship. If the old model will be replaced instead of getting a new "serenity" - damn, this would be the end of my main char then. NEVER, never i will fly another ship.

I too am a massive Firefly fan, I even made this really huge graphical firefly map for the Fans and the RPG game, but the model used in disco is.... bad. It doesn't fit with the rest of the good models and seems out of place.

Personally I would love it if they replaced the current FF model with a new detailed one, but as someone mentioned, that's not how the server does things as they want all unique ships. The one made in this thread is just so cool that if the firefly is gonna be replaced, at least its by a really good one

I think those "but it's from the series!!!" people should be thrown out of a window. the airlock.

1. It is a horrible model. It just looks bad. No matter how you look at it. Doesn't do justice to the show...
2. It is an import. The modmakers / devs / admins / people up there / god / a higher being of some sorts / [insert_random_person_here] have decided that we do not want imports in the game and therefore which them to be replaced.
3. Swallow's model is just awesome. Also its little brother - the freighter - is already in the game.
5. It's not like the transport would be deleted...also the Firefly doesn't fit into Freelancer imo.

Everything right here, but i do not play Disco cause of the beauty of the models, i play it for RP only. And my ship is part of my RP-story like my chars are. And to change a story only cause i loose my ship?
On the other hand, what is worth a little bit of poor RP? Nothing i have to decide...

Why would changing the look and name of a ship make your character different? It's still a transport with the same amount of cargo just use Serenity instead of Firefly and you're set.
