Also, there's the question of "why are the devs doing this at all?"

As far as I can tell, the only reason is "because some members of the community/dev team think Zoners shouldn't have these toys."

Not because of any actual problem going on, such as rampant abuse.

This is apparently enough justification to poop in the cereal of everyone who roleplays a Zoner cap.

SRPs are pretty easy now, if you really want your battleship turrets that badly.

The official zoner lore I am working off is that included in the mod itself through a myriad of infocards and rumours.

Player faction lore does not become mod lore until the dev team says "okay" and throws it into the mod itself.

The development team's job is not to read everyone's story posts and write the mod based around those.

Now where did I insinuate that?

The man-hours required to gather notes on a number of keyword mentions, say, "nephillim" using the search function is less than it takes to write one of the very same midsized Rp posts that they'd be perusing. They don't have to read the whole thing, just skim an odd mean of role-play. If people desire special attention for a skim then they should link it to them.


You also forget the number of developers, and the amount of time spent on Skype debates which could be seriously axed if only a wee bit of forum research was undertaken. It's not the Tasks of Hercules.

When the official factions submit lore changes to us, we make that happen.

When no one submits any lore changes, well, we have to make some up ourselves.
