You're in the wonderful and peaceful organisation that is NATO. Your country, as do all of the countries east of Germany, serves as a buffer between Russia and the true Europe. Or as a meat-shield. Choose your favourite word. As such anything "bad" is highly unlikely.

in my opinion, it would come down to things:

1. Russia actually daring to invade NATO/EU members (That'd be Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania

and

2. NATO and the US having the cojones to actually do something and defend them.

None of this BS diplomacy ****. in situations like this, it comes down to who whas the bigger stick, and if they are willing to use it. NATO/EU/US has the bigger stick, but with the current trend of namby-pamby left style nicey-nice i dont think they'd have the will or the balls to use it. (reminds me of the years leading up to/during WW2 (up to 1940) where appeasement and faux diplomacy were the name of the game and we know how that turned out)

Like in Georgia, Putin just diffused ww3 by taking Crimea. He knew the west is disparately trying to encircle them and add former Warsaw pact countries to NATO. Had he done nothing, the 'new government' would be nullifying their base treaty and kicking them out . Russia will not stand by idley and watch NATO weasle the Russian fleet from the black sea. Otherwise a few months from now he'd be in a worse conflict when Ukraine gets in NATO and steals the black sea from him. He has what he wants. The US hippocrites act like they're angels, as of never used their military to make things go their way. The US/NATO position is laughable. Like Busy said, if you wanna make an omlet, you gotta break a couple of eggs. So far, he's been far less violent than America has been (Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, to name a few)
