Hey, I've read somewhere this is not p2p anymore! Is that true?

It never was p2p- you can earn all equipment by playing - and the most important stuff is only available via playing for XP.
You can get more XP by paying for boosters - and paying for guns may help to get "started" or something very specific very fast...but other than that you just pay for hats and camo...

Concerning the hardware: my laptop has a bad graphics card( but an i5 processor) - with lowered graphics i can still play just fine as long as i stay away from large battles while piloting aircraft...so you might even give it a shot...

Funny. I found that Miller was pretty much easymode for infantry gameplay.
