Hm, just remembered one great example for ScornStar..

How would you feel if you fought, say, 2 bombers and 4 LF's in your Battleship..
Now, LF's can't hurt you at all..
But, they can do one thing that is against the rules.. Ram you.

Now, how would you feel in your battleship if they rammed you and made you unable to aim at all?
But still - it's doable.. And in RP - because they want to win.

Problem is - it's unfair. And it pisses people off. And they quit the game.
There has to be a reasonable line drawn between RP and gameplay, and both should be acceptable.

Can it be enforced? No,not easily.

But might prevent it happening, even a bit.

What is the point in making a rule that can't be enforced completely but could end with a dilemma. I don't believe that making such a rule would be a good step.

I just had a quick story to tell...my pirating bomber (falcata) went up against a Corsair Lunchbox. Things were looking grim and I was out of bats/bots so I nailed a couple of NPCs while waiting for my SN to recharge, got the little boost I needed, and won the battle. Now, what did I do wrong?

You did nothing wrong. Killing npcs out of roleplay wouldn't be sensible though so better watch what you are shooting at.

Right then it was perfectly ok.. but btw... GMG and Outcast are enemies... as well as GMG and Corsairs [/b] so you should make sure you are hostile to them... when you are in Sigmas.

You threat a hostile NPCs in the same way as a Hostile Player, and the Hostile Player you threat the same as the hostile NPCs so:

Hostile NPC = Hostile Player

They exist on a same terms.

It doesn't matter from point of RP who you attack and I don't see a problem when you switch on NPCs, you switch couse they are attacking you, not to couse you want to farm some bats/bots.

It's a roleplaying point.
