Lolwut?
Prooflink or didn't happen.
Also, remember that there can't be enough money, so people will continue trading and trading and trading even if they have 10 billions. Why? Because they hadn't other experience.

Oh how i miss the good old days of demand limits, on a related note to that in the last few months since i came back i have noticed that almost every pirate i come across refuses to RP, here is what a normal interaction with a pirate looks like these days.
Quote:*trader and pirate cross paths*
Pirate: Stop or die!
*pirate fires CD then snacs/mortars the transports shields*
Transport: Woah woah, calm down i am stopping.
Pirate: Now pay me "5-20 million, will often charge these amounts even if the transport is empty" or die!
*transport tries to RP*
Pirate: Shut up and pay me now or die!
*pirate starts to kill the transport*
Transport: Ok ok!
*transport repeatedly tries to open a trade window while the pirate ignores it and continues to fire until transport manages to use /givecash with half a hull bar left*
Transport: Happy?
Pirate: Move along or i will kill you!
Anyway, onto my other point, in the last 2 weeks or so i have been able to make almost three billion credits, this is with just trading/mining/jumping/stufflikethat for a few hours a day, credits are not hard to make, you just have to think about how to make the most profits, teamwork helps a lot.

I tried to pirate once, as a farmer alliance guy. I stopped one of those miners who was returning from his trip to the ore sellpoint. I tried to ask him what he had eaten, did he prefer rice or synth paste, and asked for a small contribution to the farmers cause.
Perhaps I took longer than supposed to. Perhaps my inexperience in piracy made me unaware of it, but when he started stalling at the end when I ended my spiel and made my demand, I should have guessed he already had backup on his way.
Piracy isn't just fancy threats, piracy isn't just a opportunity to prey on the wealthy. Piracy is a risk, a dangerous bet. Most of the occasions it might be more dangerous to the pirate than to the assaulted pilot.
If you die to a pirate, you lose some money and time, and you may try again.
If die as a pirate, you have lost an encounter, and the presence you had established has a pirate wanes for a while....

Looking back, I see little meaning as to why I wrote this. I can see how most pirates, probably the experienced ones too, do like to keep it short when robbing someone.
2Saronsen. Maybe the whole reason of these changes: house corps should have more safe, but less profitable routes? Also, your thread is nearly 6 months old. Economy wasn't changed again?
Quote:*pirate fires a CD*
P: Stop right there and prepare to cargoscan!
*trader keeps thrusting away*
P: When I said stop, you should stop!
*trader keeps thrusting*
*pirate finally opens fire*
*trader stops*
T: Hey, what'd you want here?
*after that comes annoying and pathetic RP, usually trader can't even speak english properly*
*then SUDDENLY a friendly to trader capship's arriving, because while you were trying to stop trader, he was crying in all skypechats he had access to how he was attacked by fleet of cruel pirates*
So i don't wonder, when pirates are going with "answer within 2 minutes or die" threats, they just had no other choice. Quite fortunately, members of official trading factions are exception from my example.
Good piracy RP is the one you get paid and are not shot at.
There are few types of traders. Those who do not mind RP can chat with pirate for hours without calling backup. Then there are those who simply want to be over with this faster, so they can make money faster. And then there are traders, who are unwilling to stop and comply at all, or only do that once they are down to 10% hull or so.
There are also different type of pirates. Though, more types than I care to write.
In short, pirate and trader interactions are based on the attitude and past experiences. While flying my LH char, I had many encounters, both good and bad, both worse and better.. Then there were best and worst encounters. I had interesting talks with indies, unofficial groups as well as official faction members. I had unpleasant experience with all three above too.
Piracy is dynamix experience, where trading usually is not, because while trading, you are pirated less times compared to times you reach destination without encountering pirate.
While pirating, you are not always guaranteed to be paid.
So all in all, piracy is bigger time waste than trading. And you can't earn that much money. With LH~ char, I earned 200M over 3 weeks. With trader char, I do that in 2 days.
So please remember, pirating is not profitable and thus, don't be afraid to encounter a pirate. Paying small portion of your daily profit is so little and is part of the game.
If there were no pirates, lawfuls would have nothing to do, and then, traders wouldn't need to trade to get lawful capships. This is a cycle that we are all part of.
