Does it sound like I'm ticked off? INDEED.

This makes the 2nd night in a row where there's been problems in Manhattan space. Last night, a new Lane Security recruit(1 hour old) was blown up in front of Manhattan while in the middle of a trade. No warning, no break in the comms saying "OH, Human scum!! prepare to die!!" Not even DIE. He didn't even get a chance to get out of the trade screen before being blown up and sent back to Omega 7.

Now tonight, another happy episode in front of Manhattan. Flew there as Lane Security Bravo, going to meet up with a buddy and, as I undocked from the tradelane in front of Trenton, I was met 2 seconds later by lazer blasts. I had enough time to fire maybe 3 bursts and was also killed. NO WARNING. NO COMM CHATTER. NOTHING. Strangly enough, the same Cylon that engaged my new recruit without warning the night previous was there again, joined with at least 5 others pirateing Manhattan space.

And where is the LSF? SA? LIBERTY NAVY? POLICE? Seems okay that they now charge 3-5 million for a permit just to park in Manhattan airspace and sell hard-earned weapons. Another couple of million just to have nomad weaponry on board your ship(which is hard-earned and a pain in the a-- to get usually). And yet 3 times in 2 days I go there and am met with open piracy and senseless killings????
With not 1 Johnny Law in sight??? (I take that back, there was 1 police tagged vessel there tonight, but I obviously didn't have time to scan him, he might have been under 30th level. Didn't even notice him there 'till I viewed the screenshots)

Seems that the patrols in NY have dropped to almost nothing and the pirates can freely sit outside Manhattan whenever they wish with no fear of dying. Even yesterday, going to Manhattan to donate money to Brokenback's children's funeral, a rouge destroyer and others sat outside Manhattan making fun of Lane Security on open comms. No doubt, I probably would have died engaging them, but the humanitarian mission I was on prevented me from doing what I should have done in the first place....fight until death, regardless the odds. Rest assured, comments like that won't go unpunished again, regardless of the mission.

And the re-engaging of my fellow companion tonight while trying to leave NY after getting killed, I will not get into, (he's handling that blatent violation of the rules himself), it just adds more gas to my fire.

Unfortunately, Lane Security has but 2 bases, Detroit Munitions in NY and Pueblo Station in Colorado. Therefore we have 2 choices, either stay here in this rotting cesspool of a House where lawlessness seems to abound, or seek greener pastures elsewhere.

Now please tell me, can I engage a hostile, after viewing their ID with no comms? Can I kill an unaware pilot simply becuse his faction ID states that he's my bitter enemy without breaking radio silence? If so, away I go, with a bottle of rum, yo ho ho. There will be dead bodies floating all over Sirius.

I'm here because this is an RP SERVER. Don't get me wrong, I love Discovery, I love the people here, and I've made some really good friends here. A few bad times will NOT ruin my view of Discovery. But in my opinion, what's happening to NY is totally OORP. If it continues, I'll be more than happy to move my people to systems where they are appreciated... Bretonnia perhaps, and let the glorious Liberty Forces deal with their own mess (if they get out of SUNBUCKS in time).

Oh, to our faithful Liberty Law, did you happen to notice the 2 ORDER tagged Albatross Cruisers there too? Forgot to mention that earlier...better watch the Alaska Jumphole a little more closely....OH *SLAP* that's right, they came from Colorado space. But you don't get up there much, do you? Too bad I was in a fighter this time.

Think about the time zones. Factions like the LSF and SA might not be on at the times these pirates come. For example, I live in Australia. Usually when I get home from school, there are no factioned players online. The rest are independents. You see lots of pirates in New York because there is no presence during their play-period.

Just a thought.

I'm usually on at about the same time this happened and NY is usually swarming with police. I could be jumping the gun, but it seems pretty lawless the past few days. I rarely saw pirates just sitting outside Manhattan, taxing and killing senselessly. I mean, it's the Capitol of Liberty.......

We had a good fight going near New Berlin this evening between RM and RHA, with a pair of indi RH cruisers and a BHG rhienland cruiser. One of our cruisers got destroyed, and he proceeded to uterly SPAM system chat with ooc remarks about how the RM was ramming him on purpose and how he was going to report them, totally ruining the atmosphere. RM whithdrew when this happened and ended a really nice fight.


EDIT: Its spring break here in the US, so everyone is probably on vacation this week.

So the OORP finally got to ya...it happens to all of us yes, and hopefully, you'll see it through. Factions in all houses go through ups and downs (and yes the Lib lawfuls have been less active on my playtimes too). Hang in there, it'll turn eventually.

I think I made my point elsewhere about the said gentleman and his behavior...

and well... Outcasts, Cylons, Blood Dragons and Xenos ... all in one nice group shooting "kill the navy" parking in front of Manhattan.

Seems i'm a happy guy. NY and Liberty will only see me, when creating a new char and then bye bye.
Fortunately you can get the fun and the credits elsewhere.
Thanks to the protest march event, even my ALG char will never return to Liberty with a good reason.
