I disagree with any unlawful faction camping Manhatan.
Sure, you can come, have a fight, and then leave.
But camping, waiting for someone to undock - stupid.
As far as I remember, Cylons are fighting against CR..
What the heck is he doing in NY? And why is he attacking random targets?
Chip gone wrong? Right..

Yeah, I was there yesterday. [HF]Jason.Moore switched out to LPI-Matt.Myers[L] once I realized what was going on. I went in like a buffoon and started shootin' all the bad guys, yes I saw them. I came, I saw, then they left like twenty minutes later.
Not the point. The point is that yes, it's annoying. However, afterwards, a Xeno bomber stood 10k from Manhattan, and the usual RP Xeno spiel of trying to get everyone to rebel, with me agreeing and then reading the field manual and realizing that I had to 'silence the heretic' and then taking out the wooden stake and iron cross... well, it was fun. 'Cept the fight, it was kinda one-sided... bomber vs. LF. Yeah.

Well this helps address the issue nicely Eta, I'm sure he'll just go away and be happy that your oneliner put his mind at rest.
Sprite: It is a problem yes, but as Eta so kindly stated real life concerns may casue the lawfuls to be underrepresented at the moment, still that does not excuse poor RP, you shouldn't hang around in front of Manhattan as an unlawful just to PvP, which if you're hanging round Manhattan, that's what you are there for. You can argue against this but it's true, you can't RP anything for very long in Manhattan orbit, because you will get jumped on, every one who plays an unlawful in Liberty knows this. So my message to the unlawfuls is this, stay away from Manhattan, if you want to intecept traders and such there is the rest of NY to do it in. Camping manhattan is OORP, logically it could not be done.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
Don't forget that sitting around Manhattan pirating blatantly when there are no lawfuls about is metagaming. Yes, that's right...metagaming. It's bad RP.
Do you think that actual pirates would risk their lives...and stay that close to CAPITAL of a lawful nation?
I propose three things:
1) Put some high level NPCs in New York. It's Liberty's capital, and frankly, just because it's the start-off point, does not mean that should be easily breached by enemies.
2) Change the start off point to Connecticut. There, it's a free for all, and eventually, the underlevel PvP whores are going to tire of just getting ganked by other starfleas.
3) As a understanding between players....don't pirate in a lawfully dominated area(where there are lawful NPCs, platforms, bases, etc...) where there are no lawful players around. Don't get me wrong though, feel free to hit the trade lanes and pirate. Just don't sit outside a Jump Gate, a Planet, or a lawful base like Pueblo Station and pirate, even if the NPCs are hostile to you.
It's bad RP. Don't do it.

Nice rant, however, the liberation of Manhattan was to allow it to become an open port for cardamine smuggling and other nefarious events. It worked. Those smuggling, allied, or Zoner were left alone, however, lawful defenders were attacked on sight as happens in the reverse. In addition, our presence outside was advertised many times over open frequencies. Also, it was spontaneous hence the motley group of individuals.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make. My objective was not to whine about the fact that there were no lawfuls there to prevent this from happening, (obviously we all have real lives to attend to), my point was in the spirit of RP, unlawfuls should realize that they shouldn't be sitting outside the capitol of a house killing innocents. Unfortunately, the occasional 1-2 lv police npc patrols pass thru, but what threat is that? It seems to me if a group of criminals came within scanning range of the house capitol, a fleet would be immediately mobilized to deal with this threat, not to mention the planetary defense guns.
If this isn't respected, what's to stop anyone (on either side) from doing it? "After 2 months of searching, I finally found the secret base of the Rouges in the Badlands!! I think I'll get 5 or 6 of my buddies and pirate the pirates!!!" You can bet, if say, 5 or 6 LSF guys were camped in front of Buffalo or Ouray in Colorado just shooting pirates in the name of peace, someone would be screaming on the forums.
All I ask is that people think before acting. Should I be here? Even though I can be here, should I be?
One of my chars is full green to the Xenos, not because I'm unlawful, (he's BH Guard actually), but because I kill a LOT of rogues on missions. This does not give me the right to fly to Ouray and hang around or dock there by any stretch of the imagination. Realistically, if my BH ship were to come within scanning range of that base, a fleet of ships would be sent to immediately eradicate the threat. I will deliberately shoot a Xeno npc just to make him red to me, simply because BH and Xenos are absolutely bitter enemies.
I know we can't stop all the metagamers, all the OORP chat by newbies, and some of the other unpleasant things that happen here, like cheats, but if us deticated gamers try a little harder, we can spread an example for the others. There are so many excellent RP players here and these players are the true backbone of Discovery.
Just my thoughts.... and apologies to Liberty lawfuls if it seemed like I was pissing in your pool.
