Many was among the smartest moves that i made was joining in the military and being discreet about the augmentation, when people ask the question i reply that it was an accident in a factory.
'Zeal' was happy about me keeping quiet about her, but that means I'll have less time to interact with her. Because in all honesty is that if I want to learn more, then i'll have to learn more about 'zeal' first.
I was outfitted with a Wraith, and also met another few recruits aswell. Which is good; because at least i won't be on my own looking like cheap little shot, honestly. But I have to retain focus, because I have two objectives now; to enforce Rheinlands will, and to chase the keys to the knowledge I hope to uncover.
I'll be probably filling in the diary a lot more now, but a lot of the stuff that will be said in the diary will be the true side of a story because I'm pretty sure of the Buro will possibly be keeping into details of what I'll write into the military reports.
Anyway we'd better get on with basic soldiering right now: patrols, or enforcement, but one I don't want to look forward to is possibly starting to fight Bretonia.

Haha! Today was quite a fun, me and Erik Keller had a bit too much to drink, some Rheinbier for him, plenty of Gin & Tonic for me; Although i don't drink that often.
Ahhh but promotion is fun, its happy to finally get out of recruitment and become a fully fitted soldier... Say, i think im allowed to be supplied with a bomber now, i think i'll make good use of it... Anyway, 'Zeal', she had her own sort of fun by studying how Humans entertain them self with others. She had fun, Almost like i could see her dancing to the Club's music... Oh this should be--- Nah, never mind, its not like Schatten is keeping a close eye on me anyway, I’ve left their Employment, so i still don't understand why 'Zeal' and i can never feel alone...
I swear, when i got home to Stuttgart, 'Zeal' was all like "I told you not too drink to much, But 'Nooooo!' you went ahead and had a whole bottle of Gin. You embarrass me sometimes!"
God i hate AI's sometimes---

Do i ever look back and say to myself "how did i end up here?"; Never.
I know how i ended up here, even if it could drag me to hell, its my chocie if it happens. Although sometimes that's the way an Adventure is crafted.
I left 'Zeal' on the charging station back at Stuttgart after heavy amounts of work in high density composite materials. And i decided that i never really needed the extra systems to keep my weapon's and defensive systems in the Augmentation online, although it is compulsory to the protocol, its not for military service...
I was so close to hunting and capturing a Nomad power cell, that the very itch of taking it back to Stuttgart was only a few trade-lanes away. Only if i never informed the C.O. but, i had to make it look like i'm just your 'Average G.I.-Joe' soldier. Anyway, before this small 'Nomad' encounter, i got split up with the rest of my fighter group. and headed straight for Kusari, the [KNF] we're not expecting just me, but i had to get there A.S.A.P.
They escorted me to their Research station to work alongside the [RM] in studying the Cell.
The 'Nomads' took me, after months of hunting for the Cell, I finally knew who the real origins of our technology are. These 'Pure energy' Mind-forms we're able to actually 'hack' into my head, looking into my memories and 're-arranging' what i've experienced in my entire life...
There were two of 'Them', one of just pure energy, never showing itself, you could never see it, a voice of thousands--- A voice so ear bleeding, that only few can survive it if they understand it.
Then there was 'Her' the one in the Red dress.. oh have i awaited this message for ALONG time... she called me a 'Child', No understanding why; But there had to be some reason why 'she' wouldn't of just went ahead and blasted me into thin glue. Her voice was quite relaxing... but i swear not to be fooled by this siren, but it should be someone i need to remember. I think maybe its about time I dug deeper into this whole Nomad context.
It was shocking, and scaring to say the least... But it happens, I’ve never felt stronger surviving such a thing... But i lost 'it'... I had to let it go, it was almost the source of how they can find me... a 'Mark of death' if you put in that sort of context. That Nomad power cell was a near death token, i burnt my hand on that thing... scared me with its 'Blue mystic' for the days i can remember.
With the 'Cell' gone, i had to be taken back to Rheinland, a few days later the BDM knocked on my Door of my temp quarters on Strausburg... They took me to Schatten again, oh they were rough, beat me in the face, attacked me when i never answered... i just laughed.
i laughed, and laughs were keeping my sanity from showing it's own true form. They thought i was mentally unstable. Well, i may think differently, but who said I’m 'Unstable'. They took IV'ed me, tried to wipe my memories from the past 2-3 days, Unfortunately they forgot the 'Filter' systems inside the Augmentation, this sends out tiny nano-biotics that break down foreign chemicals that try to infect or destroy my systems. so i played to fool and pretended to forget.
I was soon contacted again by, 'Her'. The 'One in Red', i tried to cry out to her for assistance, and it worked. 'Her' anger drove her to Frankfurt, on our way back to New-Berlin, the Lane cut out, and we were 'ambushed' by a blue biological vessel about the size of a liberty gunboat. One of the agents stayed behind to fight, while the other forced me to New-Berlin. I just froze there... Stood by what i was told as 'Mankind’s only and greatest enemy'. Is its truly 'our' enemy, or is it only another perspective?
I was taken to Strausberg and told to take leave of a week, relieving me of Military service. When i got back i just wanted to talk to someone, i needed 'Zeal', she was someone who i can talk to, almost the only 'Personality' i trusted. I spent almost half of the day smoking through bags of pipe tobacco, that 'Zeal' begged me to sleep... i can't bare the sight of her being worried. So, i took rest on my bed and slept it off...

Right, i managed to get my hands on another one, but i can't be happy about this one!
I was patroling around New-Berlin again, somewhat a quiet moment. This is a time where being relaxed was a bad desicion to make... Suddenly i was surrounded by Wilde, oh the joys of a different species.... But i had this pain, this huge pain in my head that i just felt for a moment, a 'Spike' if you must call it. 'Zeal' wasn't happy about the encounter either. She was prepareing a little something i cooked up back at the makeshift lab, a Personal-Jump-Drive, Built from schematics at the Black labs of Schatten, its easy when you remember old pass codes and use an Encoded Proxy.
Anyway, they suddenly un-cloaked, and gave me quite a jump. I've seen the tech before, its mostly the origins of what our tech is used off; Cloaks, jump-drives, trade-lanes, jump-gates, you name it. But theres something i need to secure first when i scanned on of their cargo holds. The 'power cell!'
Some say that the 'Nomads' had their anger turned on Knowledge that was 'Stolen' from them and not given back. I just wish i could look at it, then give it back. Because i'm pretty sure that thats one of the reasons they're so--- vicious towards us.
Anyway, the Home-defence fleet appeared from nowhere and opened fire. One was taken out like a fly, the others fled, but i managed to tractor in the Powercell, but one of theirs took the Survivior's escape pod. I'm not sure how to view Nomads anymore; Sometimes they just appear bizzar to me.
Since my Friends are getting suspicous, i decided to hand in the Cell, not the smartest of moves towards my main goal, but the best one for survival. But anyway, there is another day for personal glory; Just not today.

I felt fine that night, i felt fully recovered... Emotional stress, gone. I haven't encountered any nomads for a while now, i've only shot down a few Hessian Jorm's in my bomber. Well, nothing prepared me for this, especially from the ones you trust the most---
I fell asleep in bed, i've slept with 'Zeal' installed into my arm a few times now, ever since i added an Induction charge plate so i can wirelessly charge my augmentations without taking her out. She noramlly stays online to safe-guard me just incase if something 'Weird' happens...
"This is where things changed."
I woke up to a loud "Thud!" from the front door. I grabbed my side arm to know that something wasn't right... Before you know it, someone had repelled through the window of my Bedroom, kicking me right in my face knocking me dizzy hitting the floor. Before you knew it, my face was bagged over, and 'Zeal' was screaming at me.
"Zeal: Geoff! Geoff! No! Shi--- Get up!"
Suddenly, my weapons unpacked from my Augmented arm, firing Purple bolts of energy everywhere. Hitting one lad in the leg; In return i was punched in the face back onto the ground. 'Zeal' stopped screaming in my head, i saw Text flashing in front of me, the Retina display told me the defence systems were Inactive... That sound... "Veep--- Veep--- Veep---" She was gone, they took her out, 'Zeal' was apart from me when i needed her in the most dire of situations. My hands were tied together, cold blooded gloves violently wrestled me up on my feet.
Geoff: "ZEAL!---Zeal!zeal---zeal..."
Why i was crying for her, i still didn't understand, she can't hear me when we're detached. I heard engines rumbling, footsteps trapling on hard ground... then that cold winter chill hit me... i was outside, dragged by my feet. i was feeling the cold steel landing pad of my front yard. The light soon penetrated my bagged face to show a shadow of my Bomber craft in flames. But before i could actually observe the total situation i was in, i was thrown in another ship like cheap baggage.
Only a few moments later, i was dragged out to a rumbling of a station, its cold area was almost freezing when all i was wearing were my tracksuit trousers and a sleeveless top... They soon hung me by the arms in an empty room... Chains were heard clanking together almost every second... That cold feeling, of hanging there like a piece of dead meat, just made you feel like something of an asset... if they wanted something else... They would of killed you already... But 'Who' they are still remains a mystery...
Suddenly, it felt like an hour, when the chains were broken... just flopping me to the ground, i was suddenly picked up and placed onto a chair that i swear wasn't there before... The bag over my face was removed, to let me see that i was once again, in a black style interrogation room, to see a man of BDM uniform there... although his face was kept black, the shade had covered his face, and my neck was just too weak to look up.
He placed 'Zeal', the card that contained her right infront of me on the steel table.
[font=GulimChe]BDM-Agent: "Well...? Talk!"
Geoff: "I'm afraid i've not entitled myself to tell you that--- sir."
BDM-Agent: "Well, if you like to just stand there for the rest of your days rotting in this hell then be my guest... but we're going to need all the information from you... WHAT DO YOU KNOW OF SCHATTEN'S WORK!"
Another figure walked by, his shoes in red and his trousers in white and blue...
BIS-Agent: "Don't scare the poor thing chap, he may seem fradgile but I'm pretty sure he can still bite back."
He soon blew a large puff of smoke right into my face, almost burning my eyes from the sheer heat of it, smelled like Pipe tobacco, but the higher end stuff...
BDM-Agent: "Well zhen, we'll just tie the poor idiot up und cut the wires on that thing!"
They both stood infront of me, then suddenly a force of anger wrapped my arms together in rope and tape, then--- a steel, curved blade was presented around my neck. BIS-Agent: "Oh for crying out loud, do you Kusarians always have to scare them more than Rheinlanders?!" Kempeitai-Agent: "Well, for the respect of Humanity, i'd rarther have his own life taken by his own blade!"
Geoff: "Hehe--- Ha, haha!"
Just as before, i just sat there, laughing, bleeding from my face from the unhealed wounds. Kempeitai-Agent: "What do you find so humorous, in a state like this, you shouldn't even find a peice of Happiness!"
Geoff: "Out of everything that you're trying to focus on... You're bickering amongst yourself's!"
Suddenly, the my chair was tipped over on its side, weighting me to the ground, as a blue and golden boot was positioned in front of me, with an imprinted Half star and stripes on each one. LSF-Agent: "Shall we just see how long his bones can last against a good beat down?!"
No vocal replies were heard, only the sound of footsteps and moving cracking knuckles; They were soon followed by the force of fists and feet injuring my body, echoing throughout the room. I was being observed by a female figure, slender... short but only shown as a silhouette in a lit observatory window... That light soon flooded my eyes as i fell into a some what subconscious state.
I was back blindfolded laying on the floor. I tried to move, but i was locked inside a cage, but the noise of industrial mechanics flooded the room, pistons going off, roaring engines blazing sound across the room. I was confined like an animal, distressed... This almost lasted for an hour. But what broke me though was knowing 'Zeal' was safe, even the word 'Zeal' kept me sane... Then i heard a rattle... The cage was being opened, i could feel myself being roughly forced to stand up, and was soon dragged away... I soon heard a familiar voice. BDM-Agent: "Stand! And don't move, or we'll shoot you!"
A Laser arm was squeezing next to my ear. its sheer energy roar was influencing enough.
BIS-Agent: "So, are you going to tell us what we want to know?"
I stood there almost crying, while giggling in some kind of sick way... but remained verbally silent.
BIS-Agent: "Fine, we're done here."
Soon many footsteps left the room... And was replaced by someone approaching in high heels, soon, I felt the ropes on my wrists being loosened, freeing me movement... sleek soft hands approached the back of my head, taking off the bag in the most gentle of ways. I was looking away at the time, as the bag came off i was staring at the observatory window, that figure wasn't there no longer...
I was soon surrounded, not by a force to be feared with, but with one that i was familiar with, 'She' wrapped her arms around my back, almost encasing me in safety... She showed me that it was all over...
Zeal: "Its all over now---!"
Geoff: "But why...? Was it to make me stronger?!"
Zeal: "No, i needed to see if you truly cared..." Geoff: "There are other ways..." Zeal: "Yes but... to know when 'This' may happen, i wanted to see if you were ready when that time may come..."
We sat on the floor together inside the steel room... holding eachother as protection like we truly do... I now understood why she tested me... She's been more human than i can ever imagine, adding to her programming, but adding it like knowledge to a brain... She came beside my ear, and whispered to me---
Zeal: "Time to wake up---"
I then found myself laying in bed, almost as i found myself last time, in a state of shock, sweating myself damp under all the sheets of blankets. But it was all gone, pain and horror, scars and insanity. Gone--- i was ready for what ever my own species could throw at me... but there’s still a lot of work to be done.

Its a new day, and good god is it good to see that chevron on my shoulder. But thats given me little time to work on the my augmentations at home. But me and Keller went to 'Strum' for a drink again, t'is nice to see him out of uniform, we normally see each other on duty and since hes in my platoon, i get to fly around with him for a while.
But when in got home, 'Zeal' was already at the main monitor asking how much i drank, and all that naggin'. Thank Carina i remembered what happened last time. But in all honesty i had 3 beers and some tea, called it a day when i couldn't take a slash without going all over the seat... *hehe*
But after that night, i woke up to work on my new ship. I recently invested in a Fafnir, unfortunately i had to head back to Schatten under license to grab it. Seeing my old boos promoted to head researcher of my old division. Pretty sure wasn't too glad to see me. But thank hell my arm and had was covered by my sleeve and glove--- Possibly thought i was a right piece of work back then. I honestly was, i rebelled against regulation and even changed plans on some details... such fun.

Geoff is sitting in his armchair at open space surrounded by his lab's machines and paperwork, somewhat relaxed and drinking his tea with an ambient orchestral music playing in the background. 'Zeal' is virtually present on a large screen, she seems happy to be around with Geoff. The two are in deep social interaction, conversing and vocally exchanging information, on the most unusual of subjects---
Geoff: "So anyway... its like a herbal essence, it just hits you... and you feel so refreshed..."
'Zeal': "I wish I could have some--- it be a amazing if I could synthesize its chemical compound for myself to try..."
Geoff: "Yes well, we'll have to put that on our 'To do' list!"
'Zeal': "Mhmm, after the personal shield modulation."
Geoff: "Anyway, hows the neural computer uplink system going?"
'Zeal': "Well I’ve formulated a 'Nought-point-two' version, but I’m not sure it will work."
Geoff: "Well, don't waste your time working on calculations and hypotheses, lets get down to an experimental practical, get the firmware ready."
Geoff steadily moves towards a placement in the wall of the lab, just opening a safe, an blue glowing electronic card sits in a slot, connected by wires and cables. 'Zeal' is suddenly digitally phased out on the screen and replaced with a "No connection" warning.
He then opens a slot in his 'steel arm' placing it inside of the socket before it secures itself with gyroscopes and locks. The arm suddenly makes a few checks, with gun barrels and fins popping out for a few moments before securing them self away back inside. Geoff: "Mhmm... much better, hmm... you've done upgrades to the power management system... now, what to test the neural computer uplink on..."
He looks towards his computer terminal. Its ports have standard ones you find on most interstellar computers, from Kishiro sockets to Ageria hardware.
One by one he starts to plug them in at a fashionable pace. Being one of care for technology. He seems to sense every spark and connection on each plate of metal makes.
Geoff: "Right, lets try with basics... accessing encrypted folders, use the one i made with a generator earlier, Corporations strength type encryption..."
Suddenly, the screen on the Terminal opens a command window, chunk by chunk, information is mutilated and scrambled before it disappears bit by bit. The window clearing of symbols and text. For every second, Geoff face enlightens and indulges every last moment.
Geoff: "This... This is amazing... it feels so... warm."
The command window suddenly closes and the file opens with text documents and research videos...
Geoff: "Hmm... that was easy... time for a harder setting, lets try--- err--- Ah! Military level encoding, use a synthesizer to copy the style the Military uses... Choose any folder, I don't care what’s in it."
Suddenly, another command window opens, but the symbols and coding are much more dense and compact together with more variety of symbols, almost unreadable to the normal eye.
Again, small chunks start to disappear, but at the cost of a much slower rate. The same symbols cluster together before disappearing, like a image puzzle, its coded text are almost being removed to erase the lock.
Suddenly, the last bits of symbols are gone, replaced by an unlocked folder full of 'Procrastination images'
Geoff: "What... i got bored."
Before he could say anything else, the computer fizzled and fritz with sparks in front of him, smoke flying up in the air, smelling of silicone and optronic residue. Geoff: "Wha- Hey! 'Zeal'! They had my diary entries on there!"
Soon he sat down back in his chair to drink in rest of his tea, now cold... he just sat there thinking to himself, privately, as if not even 'Zeal' could read what he thought---
