Hello all.

I have noticed that the only non-FL ship with a realistic texture is the LI gunboat and the Raven.

Methinks we need to take a look at original FL ships. They have hull panels, not just a smooth body with a single matt black texture (slipstream).

I think when FL ships are designed with a budget. Just jagged corners, not smooth edges. (BStar)

What im trying to say is, try not to lose the 'essence' of FL when making ships.

Jamez keep in mind that most of the non-FL ships were not made by our own people but imported from other people's mods (with their consent). I believe The Talon is also very FL-like and looks like an original. Also Jamez... The Ravenclaw is exactly FL-like. Its alot like the Slipstream in that it is all one color (except that little icon on the wings) and smooth not jagged.

Also you can't really criticize them until you try making them... According to Wolfpack they are quite hard and time-consuming to make.

I suppose the talon is quite fitting to FL.

Dab, i have made a ship. Its called the Mosquito. Its very basic, as its not finished. I know how hard it is to make ships.

Dab, can you texture ships? Im hopeless at it. I kinda need help.

Well maybe the shapes are OK, but maybe a better texture for the slipstream?

I am horrible at ship modding. Thats why I stick to systems editing and creating.

I got some ideas! The hugenaut looks great and all but the colors are kinda strangeish. I like the Blood Dragon because it's something different. Could you put in hidden color variations of the ships like a Hugenaut Type B with the paint job black with red stripes and a Rheinland Bomber Type 2 with an Aqua Blue or dark red paint job? Ya know, same ships only a slight bit more credits to buy. But of course they'd be in bases that don't appear on the patrol paths so the'yd be a bit tougher to find.

Good idea, I'm kinda crazy about stuff like that, trust me, I'd search the whole galaxy and pay lots of credits for a fine looking ship :)

If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov
The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor
