Personally I have no experience with such small scale Projects and PM tasks, however I can talk with our Orga guy at work and ask around for free tool for PM. We are using Primavera at its different versions combined with SAP at work.

qdPM looks promising. I dunno what current Devs use, some forum based tickets as far as I know or?

No problem, I can still start from your list, add my ideas, and re-read interesting topics to include the good ideas. Of course, the list would be open to public contribution (ultimately the ideas would be aggregated by topics and we would have to choose which one we want/can keep)
Your second point is especially relevant, since this project will require some important effort, it is good to evaluate its feasibility. Actually, that leads to one question I had (and I don't think I wrote it so far): are we talking of a brand new mod inspired by disco, or are we going to transform disco into something else? In both cases there are advantages and difficulties but I am open to both solutions..

thanks for the help, at job we use aceproject, and now we are moving to alfresco. I am not very experienced with these tools, I mean I know how where to put my hours, but I don't have a clear idea about administration.
ideally, i think we would need a free on-line platform which is not too complex, as simple as possible according to our needs.
Indeed, we could look at the dev organization to get some inspiration

In short, I'm 100% willing to help out in any way possible. I don't have experience developing mods or moderating forums, but if there's anything I can do on top of just playing the mod that contributes to the mod or the community, I'll do it.

Community-not make such useless threads.

Disco aint dying, its just caught a bout of seasonal flu, common at the age of the server. and with many Doctors of flu are on vacation now, it will take until june/july (or even august) for the flu to go. just give server some time, some warm cheese lasagne and a whole lot of care, guys

Need some software for FL?looking of a whole database? click here!

Well, I am learning to edit systems and work with economy. While I do not believe that Discovery is doomed to die, I believe there are ways to bring back life to Freelancer. A fresh start with the knowledge of inner and outer mechanics of server and community can go long way towards a healthier and better gaming community and server. A fresh approach is needed to infuse Freelancer with a second life.

I dabbled in a lot of things over the years, including modwork, but as far as the technical side of it all is concerned - none of it worked reliably. What i did get out of it was a fairly solid understanding of what can be done.

But more importantly - what should or shouldn't be done. If you can live with someone perpetually lobbying for borderworlds confederacies - contact me.

Or transfer Freelancer into a new engine?

Like these guys did:

Yup looks realy nice, "converting" discovery Freelancer into a new Engine might have a totaly new effect. The Tides of War guys did it too, they tried FL Engines limits and you see there many things can be done! I'm sure Discovery can be formed and shaped like this.

For me the question is not "is disco dying?" but "can we improve disco?".
Dying or not, based on the number of messages calling for changes in disco, I think an improvement would be appreciated by many. However, maybe more would complain if such change would be implemented, that's why a new mod could be required to satisfy both groups.

The amount of work must be colossal. But if Disco wants any chance to survive Star citizen it will be needed.

This user talks little to none english. If you find something wrong tell him.

This indeed would do. Talked with the orga guy he said the same. Benz drop me PM with skype group if you have any. Also did anyone spoke to the stubborn fellows that have little to no understanding for the in-game realities called devs/admins?

@Panzer good to have you here.
