Open for Consensus Unit: Anomaly and any others that he explicitly invites

Space was still for once. The war that all of Sirius seems to have been waging upon one another has drawn up silence, if only for a day or two. Only the turning of the planets and the intermittent crashing of asteroids against one another gave the illusion of life. And there, in the distance, a single jet of flame streaking across the darkness.

The Vicar Malachi was moving - quickly and with purpose. He had received a communique inviting him to Planet Gammu, a place he remembered well as the homeworld of his people's old allies in the Sentient Machine Alliance. From his original position in the depths of the Barrier Nebula, a short SOS was answered by Freeport 10. It was no simple task, but he acquired the coordinates for the newly phase-aligned jumpholes that would lead him to Omicron Delta. From there, he remembered well how to reach Kappa.

And now, as the Progenitor wove its way between spikes of ice, he approached the icy and irradiated planet.

>> Vicar, radiation levels have increased substantially during your slumber.
>> They may interfere with our systems.

The Council has prepared my form for all abuse, Izic. <<
It shall serve no detriment. <<

>> I am more concerned about the vessel's systems
>> than I am your form, Vicar.

They will all hold. <<

>> If you insist.

Malachi pressed the Progenitor into a steep decline, diving through the atmosphere of the alien planet. As the ship's nose bit the air with flame, Izic began transmitting to the Consensus.

The Enclave has arrived.

As the Vicar's ship descended through the radioactive, turbulent atmosphere of Gammu, shaking from the rather sudden arrival into a pressurized environment, and buffeted by sudden gusts of wind, it was met by a single Drone-class vessel rising to meet it after the communication had been sent. The drone went past the ship, turning to enter formation with it, seemingly unaffected by the turbulences. Then, suddenly, a data burst was received a few instants after the original transmission.

>"Welcome"

That was all that was said. No warm introductions, no emotional words, nothing. Just a simple, efficient message.

"Welcome".

The drone positioned itself in front of the Vicar's ship, guiding it to one of the numerous landing pads dotting the surface of Gammu.

The Vicar's Spatial touched down on the surface of the small, black pads. The cockpit looked like a Christmas tree inside: countless alerts for radiation, turbulence, and surface temperature were flashing in particolor strobe across the Vicar's face. He pulled up the hood of his robe, cloaking his features in shadow and papyrus-colored cloth.

Two steel skeletons, inactive, stood sentinel over the ship as he walked down the ramp and took his first gulp of frozen air.

He scanned the surrounding area before locating a small doorway nestled into the side of a nearby hill and partially concealed by a snowdrift. Entering into a swift stride, he approached the door and waited for something to happen.

A green humanoid form devoid of any facial features appeared in front of the Vicar, floating between the doorway and the hooded figure.

Welcome, Vicar. I am the Unit know as the Anomaly. I trust you had a rather... pleasant trip?

The Vicar was taken aback. Of all the things that he expected, this was not one of them. This synthetic form was much different than those of the Enclave. Still, he did not let his surprise show.

Health, he said in greeting, The voyage was difficult, though not beyond our abilities. But yes, I suppose some legs of the journey were 'pleasant'.

The Anomaly's humanoid avatar bowed slightly.

"Good. Please enter the corridor and wait inside; you'll be directed to a more comfortable place before we begin talking."

With that, it disappeared.

Malachi watched as the door swept open in front of him almost silently. A gentle gust blew in from behind, urging him into the corridor. It was bleak - simply a steel-plated hallway - yet the Vicar stepped inside. As the door closed behind him, his systems began to respond a little better. It seemed these passages were at least partially protected from the planet's radioactivity.

As instructed, he waited inside.

As the door closed, there was a greenish glow on the joints between the walls, ceiling, and floor, and the door. Then, it all faded, and the radiation levels dropped to almost zero. The corridor lit up with bright light, a single, glowing white strip seemingly stuck on the middle of the ceiling providing all of the luminosity; it ran to the end of the corridor, which looked very, very far away. Then, the floor tile the Vicar was standing on rose up silently and started moving forward, gently accelerating.

The walls slid by him, monotonous and bleak, accented only by the flash of green that adorned the corners then - it was gone. A single beam of light took his place and Malachi began sliding, unobligingly, down the hallway. Panel after panel of the tunnel slid past him as the platform beneath his feet followed the path of the light.

An intriguing design, he pondered out loud, not really expecting a response, Unorthodox, or at least unknown to my people to be sure.

He waited and rode the platform deep into the side of that hill; into the heart of Gammu.

The platform came to a halt in front of another door of similar design to the first one; except it appeared much thicker and sturdier, and there were obvious weapon turrets hanging from the ceiling. A green light shone suddenly around the Vicar, before disappearing, and the door opened. The Anomaly's avatar was floating behind the door, and it joined the Vicar on the platform as it picked up speed again.

Hello again, Vicar. Please wait for a few more moments, we are arriving at our destination.

As the platform slowed, a larger, circular room with the same plain grey walls came into view. The only obvious entrance was the corridor they just came from. As the platform slowed, a smooth, circular table raised from the floor, with a single accompanying seat.

Please, have a seat. We'll begin shortly.
