This post will be updated and other videos will be added as they come out. This thread will contain all of my videos involving piracy, both from the side of the pirate and piratee.







BASICS: SETTING UP A PIRATE CHARACTER
This video will show you how to name, create and set up a basic generic pirate with a limited amount of credits as well as briefly explain choices in ships, IDs and so on.




BASICS: CONCEPT OF PIRATE-TRADER ENCOUNTER
This video shows the very basics of how to deal with a trader in theory. The video was done on my server to offer more time to explain the situations and choices at hand.




BASICS: APPLYING PREVIOUS LEARNED MATERIAL INGAME
This video is a continuation of the previous one. Here we will apply the gained knowledge in a more practical manner.



BASICS: HOW MUCH TO PIRATE THE TRADER FOR
In this video I explain the things about demanding a set amount of credits from the trader. I also cover the type of mentality you can have with your pirates and how that changes the overall feeling of encounter you have. I touch upon the subject about ores and regular cargo and how that influences the amount you may want to ask from the trader.

Interesting video, I was amazed at how easily you get around and effortlessly quick dock everywhere . Out of curiosity, one thing I noticed is you always normally fly around but just before quick docking in jump holes you switch to free mouse flight. Any particular reason for that?

Oh, it is because F2ing on an object will cause the ship to automatically disengage cruise engines at a certain distance. I think it was around 1k or so.

Hey spazzy, you said you use all Energy Cannons but the most Pirates/Freelancers bombers I see these days have all EMP cannons mounted.
What do you think of that ?

It means they are built for PVP rather than piracy.

One of your videos got me started on the practice of letting the guy I'm holding up choose how much he wants to pay me to not get shot to bits, only had three people spam up my chat with "helpful advice" trying to get me to actually want to bother to do the math on their cargo and charge some percentage or whatever.. stupid as hell if you ask me.
Anyway I digress, thanks for the helpful tips Spazz, makes being a pirate kinda fun!

You make it sound like the Pirate ID makes certain unlawful factions hostile to you. It does for the Xenos, but the others were already hostile based on the /restart -- now, it does make certain unlawful factions perma-undockable-neutral (Rogues, Hackers, LWB), but not all of them (GC, BD, Hessians, Unioners for example).
